So last nite I was out with my social group. I sat next to Debbie who is the classic good-looking blonde with large bOObs, probably around 40 with no kids. We were chatting casually and dancing.

We are aquaintances and not really friends.

After my third pint of newcastle i told her we should get together sometime. The way she rejected me was so funny and well worded that i didn't even feel like i was being turned down. She must have a lot of practice turning guys down i would think.

Basically she said something to the effect that she doesn't date anyone within our loose-knit "group" and that she prefers to keep our relationship casual. She also said she has friends she can hook me up with and that i am such a great guy. The tone of her voice was also very nice and friendly.

I just said that its to bad we can't get together but that is no problem as i ask a lot of women out and i thrive on rejection.

I wish more women were as well versed in the process of rejecting a date.

By just reading that sentence, I had a pretty good idea she was experienced at rejecting men. Good for you going after her, it takes guts to walk up to women like that. As a fellow man, I salute you .

So, a face-to-face, but sensitive turn-down is classy, eh? I wonder if she had said, oh, sounds OK, but then later texted you to turn you down, how that would have seemed?

With age definately comes wisdom.. sorry you got turned down.. wish a lot of other women were like me and the good looking big boobed lady... :)

We need more reports of good turn downs, you know sort of a collection of turn down "best practices".

It does sound like you also handled it very well. So kudos to all!

Did you tell her what kind of porn you were into?

Well, he didn't actually "walk up" to her. She's part of his social group, and therefore his failed "seduction" was a bit of a short-cut.

Must be strange being an attractive woman, getting hit on ALL THE TIME. I'm not sure if I'd feel ok with that or constantly assaulted by it.... ?

In other words, she lied to you....very convincingly.

its already assumed they are lies...who are we kidding here?

So you like a smooth lie better than an honest answer? Makes sense, many people can't handle the truth.

She probably got turned off by the fact that you were asking her when you were drunk. In your drunken haze, you might have thought you acted cool, but if you might have been too drunk to notice you may have said or done something that wasn't appealing.

indeed, honesty cloaked in lies is the way to go...

Not only was it classy but it was smart. Now if she sets you up and it works out, she will expect you to reciprocate.

So now you wanted to be mean? Maybe you should have titled that last thread "how can I let her down in the meanest way possible?"

I bet you would have gotten some really entertaining responses to that one!

Polite prevarications are the social lubricant of a civilized society.

Very true, something tells me if the asker had been some hunky movie star she would have broken her rule about dating within her social circle.

And don't women HAVE social circles for dating purposes? Better than meeting random strangers? I don't think her excuse, no matter how delicately stated, was a good one. She could have thought up something better, IMHO.

i did not date the guys in my circle of friends- like one friend, and we did kinda sorta go out once, but i found out he is better as a friend. it made it wierd for awhile.

so i can only imagine how awkward it would make our friends in the group.
