nana yaw II Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 how does one gain knowledge about everyday life?
kizik Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Everything I needed to know I learned from fortune cookies.
lilmrcheerful Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Experience is probably the ultimate way of learning but also observing others and what they do, how they handle their situations and then put yourself in their shoes and see if you would have done it the same or if you have different ideas. Knowledge is always around is but sometimes we just let it slip by because it often is useless or it means nothing.
kizik Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 how does one gain knowledge about everyday life? What kind of question is that? Open your ears, open your mind, be kind to people, and it all unfolds how it should.
Author nana yaw II Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 What kind of question is that? Open your ears, open your mind, be kind to people, and it all unfolds how it should. I don't understand.
LucreziaBorgia Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 What about 'everyday life' do you want to know, and how do you want to learn it? Do you break 'everyday life' up into categories, and want to tackle it category by category or are you more of a holistic learner? It depends entirely on your learning style, your goal, and what you are willing and not willing to do to reach that goal.
LavendarGirl Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Let's see... Trial and errorExperience (and the bad experiences are the best instructors)Watching friends and family and their failures and successesPearls of wisdom from elders, friends, family that you admireTaking classesReading booksAvoiding Dr. Phil (okay, maybe not, just testing to see if you were paying attention)
Geishawhelk Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Use your eyes, ears and mouth proportionately. (ie, ears and eyes, twice as much as mouth). Mind? keep it open. Mouth? keep it closed.
Saville Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 how does one gain knowledge about everyday life? edumaction is keey. I want to forget knowledge, anyone know how? Sheesh, my brains are bursting with all of this everyday crap. Saville
kizik Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 I don't understand. OK, ahem, let me try something else. How about this. If you want to learn about life, read the entire encyclopedia. Then, interview a scientist. Then, do an autopsy on a really smart person. Then, eat Einstein's brains. Did that make sense?

Geishawhelk Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Nobody learns "wisdom". THis is something you either naturally acquire in Life, or gain through experience. Knowledge, yes. Intellect? Intelligence? Wisdom? Not quite as easy. You can be intelligent, and still not be clever. You can be brilliant, but still not be wise. I should know............
Ross PK Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Experience of living everyday life will give you the knowledge of everyday life. All you have to do is stay alive.
kizik Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Not if your head is placed squarely up your rectal cavity, like some posters around here (not you Ross).

This isn't true. everybody is born with wisdom.
anne1707 Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 This isn't true. everybody is born with wisdom. If you believe that, it just confirms your total lack of widsom and understanding.
Author nana yaw II Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Well of course everybody is born with wisdom. It's common knowledge.

It depends entirely on your learning style, your goal, and what you are willing and not willing to do to reach that goal. what goal? my "goal" is to have everyday wisdom and knowledge. why is that wrong? And how the **** does that bother anybody else?
wierdmunky Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 WHERE are you from???! You can't get wisdom from a book. You have to think outside of the box. You know more than people younger than you because of life experiences right? Then if you want to learn from other people's wisdom or life experiences, you have to listen in between the lines. Sometimes wisdom isn't just words, it's what you learned from doing things.
