This is my first time posting here, so be kind to me :lmao:.

I met this guy a month ago, and we immediately clicked like that. We've met up a couple of times, and I've even spent Thanksgiving at his place. He's really sweet to me, but sometimes he reminds me of a guy I used to like.

Anyways, he's made it clear on more than one occasion how attracted he is to me and how much he wants me to be his g/f. Not only that but he has already admitted to me several times how he's beginning to fall for me and he's already begun using the "L" word. Yes, his actions are radical, but he has shown to me how genuine his feelings are. He loves me for me, my faults and insecurities, which I have unwittingly poured on him many a times. But he told me that he's willing to wait for me for as long as he has. It's not that I don't feel the same way about him or unwilling to give him a a chance, but I don't really think I'm ready to be in a relationship. I can't help but sometimes think about the guy I was with before, because they do have alot of things in common. I want to let go of the past and move onto someone who's willing to love me for me. But what's preventing me from doing so?

It takes time to let go from a previous relationship. Even if it was a bad one, even if you were the one that decided to break up, there's always memories, feelings and thoughts that linger making it very hard for us to fall for another person for who they truly are. If a relationship is initiated during this period, it tends to be rebound and doesn't normally last.

How long has it been since you broke up with that other guy? if it's been less than 3 months, I would really suggest keeping it light and casual with this guy for now. If you're interested in him, tell him that you like him but you're not quite ready to commit to a relationship again. He seems willing to wait so it shouldn't be an issue, but don't string him along if you really aren't interested.

Get to know him better, date casually under the premise both of you are free to date other people and if things work out, sometime in the near future you two can reevaluate your relationship and see if it can lead to something more serious.

Take it one day at a time, enjoy each other's company and see where it leads you. Always do what feels right to you.
