Does Height Make A Difference?

I'm a 5'1 gentleman myself, would my height be a deterrent from woman talking to me? It's definitely been a deterrent in me having confidence in approaching beautiful woman among other things. My question is, do you think my height is to short to ever consider dating me? Or do you think my personality could some how compensate for it? What would you think on first glance?

Well, I am tall so clearly we would not make a good pair lol. You should forget about your height and approach people who are shorter/the same height/close to your height. Those girls can date you because you match up. I have heard of tall women dating shorter guys and they don't care. You just need to find a person who won't care. I am sure if you have a good personality and good head on your shoulders you can find someone.

The shorter you are, the greater the number of women who will view your height as a dealbreaker.

You sound like a troll, but if you were a 5'1" foot man, then you are going to have problems. But there are women out there who will date you. That woman might be 5'5" and still date you. And there's hordes of women just at the 5 foot mark or below who wouldn't even give you the time of day. Just gotta play the numbers and look for the right woman...

Being short is a deal breaker for many women. That's just the way it is.

BTW, don't believe the nonsense that short women want short guys. I've seen far too many 5'1 girls dating 6' guys. They look so stupid together, but it's what she wants.

I think it says a lot about our society that a troll tries to impersonate a 5'1" man thinking such a thing would be so rare as to be sumblime humor.

My father is actually 5'1"...

I'm 5'6 and I tend to gravitate towards guys who are like 5'10ish and taller (I like to wear heels ). A short guy isn't necessarily a deal breaker for me but he would have to have a stellar personality to get my attention.

On the other hand one of my very good, stunningly attractive, female friends is 5'5 and she refuses to date men who are taller than her. Her current boyfriend is 5'3.

It's really all about personal preference, I guess.

It's a problem for sure, without a doubt many women will not want to date you because of your height.

As a guy that is 6'1 I get an edge in the dating world, not that it's terribly tall...hell I've even met girls that wouldn't date anything shorter than 6'1. But I hear it a lot from women which is why I'm glad I'm tall.

Unfortunately that means your pool of women is going to be cut down, but that doesn't mean you cannot still work on all the other elements within your control. I've seen plenty of short guys with women that would almost make me jealous...but that's usually when I get an asian fetish moment.

I would get some style as I seen a lot of short guys compensate with that, short guys seem to get muscular easier in my experience as well playing sports, they usually can get buffed out alright. And then date women that are closer to your height which there are many.

Ignore the women that don't date you, for many it will be a deal breaker but at the end of the day we're all going to end up with just one girl unfortunately../sad face

I personally like a guy that is at least as tall as me. I'm 5'5. Anything over that is good enough for me. I also don't like freakishly tall dudes. Like a 7 foot basketball player would not work for me. Way too tall.

Are you calling him a troll because he's short or because you don't think there are 5'1 dudes that have trouble dating? You think this is fake? I think he's a legit guy with a legit problem finding a woman that will accept him for being short. Women want a tall guy or at least one that is a few inches taller then her.

I would never make fun of a man for being short. I'm short and have been short my whole life, though I'm a little taller than 5'1".

Yeah I have never understood this. I'm 5'6, and most of the women on match.com wanted men that were 5'8 or taller. Even chicks that are 5'0 tall.

Anyway, for many women, height is very important. It's best to just try to work with what you have instead of worrying about something you have no control over.

I was choosing girls 5'0 to 5'6, and most wanted 5'8 or taller.

Trust me, you don't want to be 6'6". Women (and everyone else) will give you the cross-eyed stare, but otherwise they'll avoid you like the plague.

Why do you assume those girls chose the guy for his height? Perhaps she liked everything else about him and decided to overlook the height disparity. It's hard enough to find someone you click with; when you do finally find someone, it would be stupid to rule them out based on one minor imperfection. As a short woman, I would prefer to date a short man. But I may not be able to find a short man who meets my other criteria, so I might end up dating a taller man who does meet my other criteria. Romantic partners aren't always made to order.

Somedude, I know you think women rule you out based on your height, but they don't. They rule you out based on everything else. I know plenty of guys in the 5'6" to 5'8" range who have no problem getting dates. And no, they're not rich, lol.

Until you have looked at 500 5'4" female OLD profiles where they go on and on in the profile about why a 5'8" man won't do but a 5'11" man... three inches taller... will do, your opinion is uninformed.

Ah ha! But don't expect a guy to always want to date much shorter women. I am 6' and wouldn't really want to go after a girl who is less than 5'6", all my previous girlfriends were at least that.
