Wow, and guess what, this was NOT an online encounter. I was out with some friends, and I met her (she was a friend ofa friend of a friend)

And we're seated together, and we're talking, and we both get up together to talk later on...and she towers over me....I think she had taken a shine to me, and she asked me for my # to go out sometime later.

I was thinking "Wow...a tall woman wants to date a short stuff like me? Interesting"

She must've been 5'10/5'11"....but hey, it was pretty much great to find someone who can look past height for a change...ESP if they're a rather statuesque woman themselves.

It seems like tall women are actually less likely to be height snobs. In my experience, at least.

Im short, so it was very very rare for me to meet a guy shorter than myself. When I dated one the same height as me, he became tedious with all the insecurity over his own height (something he was bothered by long before I met him) and I hated that he expected me to not wear anything but flats.

Congrats, OP; next time you get her number and call her and ask her on a date. In this case, should she contact you for any reason, be direct and ask her out.

Right, I get a kick out of 5'3" / 5'4" women that say "I wear heels, so that adds on about 4 more inches...thus eliminating me out of the running, because we'd both be 5'8" at that point.

If you count your heels as PART of your height....you got some serious superficial issues.

I like tall women, but personally I wouldnt date a taller woman. Im 5'11 and the perfect height I would like in a woman is 5'8.

Here's a perspective on your parameters. Note how the shoes are hidden. Nicole is 5'11" and Keith is 5'8" or so. I wouldn't say that she 'towers' over him, but YMMV.

You probably also liked the fact that she was so confident and direct, which was evident when she asked for your number. This woman is probably also somewhat "exotic" to you simply because she is so tall and attractive women her height don't usually go for shorter guys.

At 5'9" I'd kind of prefer 6'+, but I could also make a whole crazy list of things I prefer that aren't deal breakers at all. A guy being an inch or two than me doesn't even register as a fault.

YOu know what I think....I THINK it's because tall women think THEY are in the minority, esp. the super tall women....maybe it's because they think they are undesirable because I think there's a lot of men out there that are turned off by really tall women.....because it makes THEM feel less manly, so a tall woman would have the same issues in the dating world as a short man?
