irc333 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Wow, and guess what, this was NOT an online encounter. I was out with some friends, and I met her (she was a friend ofa friend of a friend) And we're seated together, and we're talking, and we both get up together to talk later on...and she towers over me....I think she had taken a shine to me, and she asked me for my # to go out sometime later. I was thinking "Wow...a tall woman wants to date a short stuff like me? Interesting" She must've been 5'10/5'11"....but hey, it was pretty much great to find someone who can look past height for a change...ESP if they're a rather statuesque woman themselves.
Cracker Jack Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Haha, that's good to hear, man. Are you attracted to her?
kiss_andmakeup Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 It seems like tall women are actually less likely to be height snobs. In my experience, at least. I'm 5'9 and have dated guys that my 5'4 colleagues would have found "not tall enough." Good for you! :]
sally4sara Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Just don't go on and on about the height difference going on with you two or complain when she wears heels. It will make you sound insecure or bothered by HER height. Im short, so it was very very rare for me to meet a guy shorter than myself. When I dated one the same height as me, he became tedious with all the insecurity over his own height (something he was bothered by long before I met him) and I hated that he expected me to not wear anything but flats.
Author irc333 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) Hey, I don't care, in fact, there are some aspects I find attractive about taller/amazon built women. More leggy, more to love, more to grab onto back there...you can wrassle with 'em, and you can let them win...when in fact, they actually beat you....so you really didn't let her win....she won, etc LOL You don't really have to be gentle either. ;-) Just don't go on and on about the height difference going on with you two or complain when she wears heels. At 5'9 and 115 lbs I am hardly "more to love," (the images of that plus size dating show are popping into my head). No matter how comfortable you get with this woman, please oh please don't tell her that you are attracted to her because she's "more to love" and you "don't have to be gentle!" Unless you want a big amazon slap across the face!! :lmao:
carhill Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Congrats, OP; next time you get her number and call her and ask her on a date. In this case, should she contact you for any reason, be direct and ask her out.
Author irc333 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 I DO err on the side of caution, but I've always wondered would it be a compliment for LIKING her for those features? I guess it all perception. (Xena Warrior Princess Warcray...yaayyayayayayayayayayay..>>SLAP!!) Hey, you might want to watch your choice of words. AD1980 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) Good job..The Taller women seem to have less of a problem not dating a tall guy then the really short girls who need to be a foot smaller then their Man and look like a child next to him to feel feminine.. Edited November 11, 2010 by AD1980
Author irc333 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Right, I get a kick out of 5'3" / 5'4" women that say "I wear heels, so that adds on about 4 more inches...thus eliminating me out of the running, because we'd both be 5'8" at that point. If you count your heels as PART of your height....you got some serious superficial issues. Good job..The Taller women seem to have less of a problem not dating a tall guy then the really short girls who need to be a foot smaller then their Man and look like a child next to him to feel feminine..
Author irc333 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 Focus on getting a date with this Amazon Already done.
Author irc333 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Posted November 11, 2010 How tall are you? I am 5'8" .......................
musemaj11 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Tall women WANT taller men. However, at 5'11 her choices are practically limited and not many guys are going to hit on her.
Content Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I am 5'8" ....................... Oh thats not that short at all 5'9 is average height for a Male youre in the average range why do guys 5'7 and 5'8 on the internet seem to think theyre jockeys?

No joke, there's a 6'3" woman on POF that has a headliner stating "DO you like tall women?" LOL A woman that tall, has no choice but to date a 6 foot squirt. LOL She's stuck. LOL It was funny seeing a picture with her and 2 other friends out at a club...she towered over those 2.
musemaj11 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I like tall women, but personally I wouldnt date a taller woman. Im 5'11 and the perfect height I would like in a woman is 5'8.
carhill Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Here's a perspective on your parameters. Note how the shoes are hidden. Nicole is 5'11" and Keith is 5'8" or so. I wouldn't say that she 'towers' over him, but YMMV.

You probably also liked the fact that she was so confident and direct, which was evident when she asked for your number. This woman is probably also somewhat "exotic" to you simply because she is so tall and attractive women her height don't usually go for shorter guys.
that girl Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Tall women WANT taller men. However, at 5'11 her choices are practically limited and not many guys are going to hit on her. I think taller women are actually less likely to care about height. At 5'9" I'd kind of prefer 6'+, but I could also make a whole crazy list of things I prefer that aren't deal breakers at all. A guy being an inch or two than me doesn't even register as a fault.

Right, as I'm sure it would turn most men on to have a tall, leggy woman make the first move. ;-)

Author irc333 Posted November 12, 2010 Author Posted November 12, 2010 I noticed that also why do you think that is? YOu know what I think....I THINK it's because tall women think THEY are in the minority, esp. the super tall women....maybe it's because they think they are undesirable because I think there's a lot of men out there that are turned off by really tall women.....because it makes THEM feel less manly, so a tall woman would have the same issues in the dating world as a short man? Get what I mean...I guess. Get a load of this pic. LOL

The simple answer to this mystery is that the taller the woman, the more awesome she is.
