fireflywy Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Well, I was out grocery shopping this evening at Wal-Mart (no comment) and as I was waiting in various busy lines, I happened to see my ex. I KNOW that she saw me as well. Anyways, I moved into the "self checkout line" and as I was bending down to put my things on the counter, I look up, and she was browsing for an item in MY LANE only two feet away from me. I was the only person in the lane. I had my ipod on so I don't know if she said anything, and when I looked up, she was moving away. I said "Hey.." as she was turning to walk away. (I don't know if she heard me. She just kept on walking. LOL. I'm laughing right now. What was that all about? Was she testing the waters? I sought my mothers wisdom about it, and my mother said that 1. She's just trying to flaunt herself to show me how much I lost,(even though she broke up with me) and because she knows I was so hung up on her. That she likes that feeling because it gives her power. 2. Two months have gone by, and she wanted to see how I would react or she is just testing herself (Of course, I DID write her a nice letter a while back http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t95099/) 3. She truly didn't know I was in that lane when she went into it and she still dislikes me. At first, when I knew she was in the store, I had a bit of anticipation. When she came into my lane, I was very amused. (of course I didn't show it when she was there because it happened so fast) Personally, I think she was browsing at Wal-Mart crusing to pick up a new guy. She saw me in a lane, not quite sure who the attractive guy was at the self checkoout lane (my hair is a bit longer now), and she was going to scout. Of course, it's probably number 3. Anyone have that happen to them? Why do women do that?
P1xie Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I agree with your mom but wouldn't be surprised if it was: Personally, I think she was browsing at Wal-Mart crusing to pick up a new guy. She saw me in a lane, not quite sure who the attractive guy was at the self checkoout lane (my hair is a bit longer now), and she was going to scout. I'm serious here, it's happen to me. My bf was out and about seen me from a distance and was totally checking me out. He did not realize it was me until I started to call him over. Basically he was done checking me out and going his merry way. He laughed and goes oh I didn't realize it was you. I think he needs glasses or something. I must of been a blonde blur. I don't know what it is but after break ups some people still want the other person to want them.
Mollyanna Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 that was a beautiful letter, therefore I can't imagine it would be option # 1. unless she is a cold-hearted b*tch?
KittenMoon Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Personally, I think she was browsing at Wal-Mart crusing to pick up a new guy. That's a quality woman there. She should at LEAST be cruising for guys in Target. :lmao:
Author fireflywy Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 What can I say? I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. To be honest, grocery stores do offer the opportunity to meet new people. Hahaha!! :D
Author fireflywy Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Yes. We have automated self-check out stands. You can scan your own items, and pay via credit card. I normally don't like to use them, because it means one less worker but I was in a bit of rush. Great pic by the way. (lol) for everyone else, might as well give everyone a good laugh. www.myspace.com/fireflywyo
bluegal79 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I saw my ex- fiance and his father at the gym on Tuesday. It has been 2 months since he dumped me and cut off all communication (my breakup story can be found in my previous posts). I had just finished one leg machine and was waiting in line for another. I happen to look up and straight ahead of me ( about 15 ft.) he was helping his father to stand up off the mats where people stretch. He was directly in my line of sight and I quickly looked away. The girl who was finishing the machine said something to me about wiping the machine down for me and I thanked her and smiled and glanced casually his way (I acted oblivious to his presence). He was standing there staring at me. I casually glanced the other way and sat in the machine and started the exercise. I finished 1 set of reps. and look up again and he is still standing there staring at me this time with his mouth slighly open. He was still in the same position staring after I finished the 2nd set and was about to start the 3rd. I didn't look up again until I finished. I started to walk toward another mat area ( not where he had been) to stretch and I looked towards the exit and he was walking out slowly with his father. I wonder what he thought when he saw me? I have even wondered if it was me he was staring at, but there were only 2 men behind me waiting for an arm press machine. I have lost 10 pounds since he dumped me and went down to a size 6 pants. My stomach has never been this flat or toned in my life. Ironically, when I was on another leg machine before I saw him, I had 2 random guys smile and say hello to me as they were walking past my machine. I am not going to contact him and didn't contact me. I wonder if he thought of me that night? So weird to see the ex again.......
Brittjean06 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 When My mom was in high school her one year bf broke up with her. 10 years later saw her asked her out but didn't realise who it was. Funny You know I'm pretty sure she recongized you there is no getting by a past love right? unless you look really different you never know
Ariadne Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Hey, I think she was browsing at Wal-Mart crusing to pick up a new guy. She saw me in a lane, not quite sure who the attractive guy was at the self checkoout lane (my hair is a bit longer now), and she was going to scout. Yeah, that's it, that's it. Next time talk to her, say hey, HEY, HEEEY! Ariadne
Author fireflywy Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Don't know if I'll got that far. I did write her the letter and I recieved no response. So, it's up to her if she wants to talk. ;)
bluegal79 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 fireflywy: I just got back from my therapy appt. and I will pass along the same advice to you that I just got. She said that if you catch your ex that close to you or staring at you like mine did, smile at them, wave casually or say hello like you did, then walk away or turn away to show you aren't interested in any further contact with them at that moment.Whether they acknowlege you or not, you have taken control of the situation and shown them you are confident and not running over to them like you still want them. You did great in that situation and I can't believe she got so close to you! By the way, I forgot to mention in my other post that I think the reason she didn't speak to you was option #2. Your letter was really nice...
Mollyanna Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 What can I say? I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. To be honest, grocery stores do offer the opportunity to meet new people. Hahaha!! :D dang i wished i was cruisin' men in Cheyenne Wyoming grocery stores. If I would run into you.. whew... "How you doin'?" saw your pic. cute. Check him out ladies!
Author fireflywy Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Well.. I don't know if she heard me say "Hey." I was kind of hesitant to do it and it was a pretty soft "hey." So it was pretty weak. I think I was so suprised that I also failed to smile at her. If she took it the wrong way, oh well. There will be other times I guess. By the way.. thanks Mollyanna. I appreciate it.
Author fireflywy Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 I put up my myspace profile on this thread. The name, Firefly comes from the short lived TV show. (if you haven't seen it, I recommend buying the DVD set. It's an excellent show). Anyway, a friend of mine sent me an expanded version of the theme song done by a big fan of the show. (for those of you who are also fans, it's a great version). That song is here... http://www.cyphertext.net/escapekey/Mal_studio.mp3 I guess I'm posting it, because even though the song is about the show plotline, there are some lyrics in there that are great when it comes to relationships. In the end, "You Can't take the sky from me!" I know.. I know.. I'm a geek. P.s. if you're a fan of the show, you can download the mp3 to your computer directly from the artists webpage. http://cyphertext.net/escapekey/songs.html (scroll down to the basement studio recording of Mal's song.

Oh, and thanks What were you showing us exactly in your my space?! Sorry for stealing the thread away from the subject
AriaIncognito Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Pink - The self checkouts will either have a signature pad that you sign on, else you wont even need to sign. I dont even sign at my gas stations anymore, so weird... Jennifer
Author fireflywy Posted August 11, 2006 Author Posted August 11, 2006 Can you guys request that again? LOL. I didn't realize it was you guys. I didn't check the thread first. Pink, the myspace things is just a fun little site to keep in touch with people. You can customize it how you like, write your thoughts down, communicate, meet new people, etc. It's free.
Author fireflywy Posted August 11, 2006 Author Posted August 11, 2006 Well, everyday I take a break at 10 AM and I walk over to the cafeteria at the hospital. My ex works there. Today, I was sitting out in the courtyard (like I do everday) and she passed by me in the courtyard. I rarely ever see her at the hospital. Curious coincidence? (She knows I always take my break at 10 AM). lol. Maybe she's still trying to see how I react? I only saw the tail end of her though. I was focused on my yogurt. What's everyone's opinion? It gets more comical all the time.
Ariadne Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Hi, What's everyone's opinion? I think you are going to end up talking to her if you continue this way Ariadne
Mollyanna Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Why do you eat at the hospital? Because you are hoping to see her too? If so, congrats - you saw her. But I am afraid if she sees you, she is going to think you are following her.
Author fireflywy Posted August 11, 2006 Author Posted August 11, 2006 Actually, I ate there loooong before we met. I'm dieting there as well. I just thought it was funny.

I was just asking why you gave the link to your 'my space' on a public forum? Is it relevent to your thread? I was just unclear as to why...
