henderson14 Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 What the title says. Is it OK to not leave a voicemail after a few dates with a girl. Doesn't she know to call you back?
Star Gazer Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It's always necessary to leave a message. If there's no VM, I'm not calling you back...even if you're my mom. 1
Eggplant Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 If you don't leave a message, I assume it wasn't important and don't call back. Yes -- always leave a message.
Eggplant Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Also, when you're dating, you always go the extra mile and be safe. If you want to get a certain job, do you not leave a message with the interviewer and assume he/she will call you back? 2
Author henderson14 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 I guess I'll add a little more detail. I kind of got a weird vibe from her at the end of the night. Earlier, she was leaning her head on my shoulder. At the end of the night she was kind of shying away from a kiss (we made out the first night) and we didn't kiss. Granted we were dancing and grinding at a bar at the time. I guess I kind of want to see how interested she really is. I figured if I don't leave a message, and she calls back, then she is really still interested.

The message you calling and not leaving a message is: Meh, not interested/not important enough to leave a message. In other words, "I don't care if you call me back." I don't call people back who don't care if I call them back.

A whole another topic is what women say they want or would do, and how they actually behave in real life.

You teach people how to treat you, and I don't teach men they can half-ass it with me and be successful. I mean, how hard is it to leave a VM? Games temporarily catch girls. Authenticity keeps quality women. Make your moves accordingly.
Divasu Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I sometimes call people and don't always leave a message if I get voicemail (including family/friends). I'll usually just call at a later time and they answer at some point.
Imajerk17 Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Just call back and leave a message. It's not a big deal to make the second call. For all she knows you accidently butt-dialed her the first time. 1
Author henderson14 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Like I said. I want to do this to gauge her interest. If she really likes me she will call back or text or something. She wouldn't just let me go. If I hear anything she is interested. Even if its an unrelated text the next day, because she was texting me for no reason last week. Or if she just answers then I know she's interested. Edited June 24, 2013 by henderson14
Southern Cal Dude Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It's one thing if its a relative or friend. But in a case like this, you need to leave a message. In places where the reception is less than stellar, your phone may not even ring. A voicemail will be picked up, even if not until you go where the reception improves. 1
Eggplant Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 If she really likes me she will call back or text or something. Not necessarily. When dating, I take great care to not let my actions belie my inner eagerness. She may or may not do the same.
Southern Cal Dude Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Haha really? If i see a missed call i call them back it doesnt matter voicemail or not im surprised people wouldnt call back if theres no voicemail. You're setting the tone for a potential relationship. We're not talking friends or family. My mom would smack me upside the head if I didn't call back, even if there was no voicemail. But that's my mom, not a girl I'm starting to date.

Ugh....games. Why not just be a genuine guy? Why games?
Lansing Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I also wouldn't assume everyone has call display. I think this is a stupid game as well. Best to leave a voicemail and see if she calls back. If she calls ack then there is enough interest there to pursue things and ask her on another date. You can gauge her interest further from the dates.

There is a simpler way to find out if she is interested, and everyone here has pointed it out to you. But, if you want to play games...........
