irc333
Okay, I think I've seen everything... Fast friends: It's not speed dating, it's strictly platonic - Chicago Tribune I read the synopsis, and I was bit puzzled. I also noticed this being advertised with a local Meetup group. Speed friending is LIKE speed dating, but...it's not exclusive to dating, it's for those seeking dates and/or friendships. Isn't that what a regular Meetup is? If you read the details on this, it's actually a speed dating event, in the guise something else, he just slapped a different label on it. And I'm sure if this is the case, when people sit across from each other, it won't be limited to just the OPPOSITE gender either. I mean, if the intentions is to make platonic friends, would you REALLY want to make friends in this fashion? And if money is being asked for, chances are, it's not to make platonic buddies, right? oaks
It's to appease the conscience. All those women who write "i can't believe I'm resorting to this" in their online dating profile will fit right in. "speed dating? No, not me. I'd never do that."
