Finally met someone new who might be worth a dam.

I meet new people all the time. Scummy men with one thing on their mind, curious women. Now a chance happening broke the ice for me.

 

This tomboyish young woman has all these thirsty guys falling all over her. She spilled her coke near a computer and half the room tries in effectively to help. Then I found a real solution and helped her clean it up. She actually wanted to know my name, and told me hers. Said she had seen me around and wondered what my name was. Then was impressed that I knew the proper cultural association with it.

 

Of course these guys are all chatting her up trying to make her laugh. But she always looked back at me.

 

So far I have been the dark mysterious one. Probably nothing will come of this but damm.

 

What makes this person worth a dam is that my "history and externals" are well known here so she must know. Yet she still wants to know me.

It turns out she's just started seeing someone. Either way this is probably for the best. TBH I was a little uncomfortable with the difference in our ages.

 

The thing is, right now, I feel just fine.

 

Edit. In casual group conversation I found out about how old she is. It would have been way to large of a difference. I 'd a bit when I thought about it.

 

Maybe I can go for that cute professor.
