pandagirl Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Who here knows their Myers-Briggs? I think knowing a person's type would be very beneficial before dating them! I am an INFP.

Vet Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Who here knows their Myers-Briggs? I think knowing a person's type would be very beneficial before dating them! I am an INFP. It's about as useful as their Zodiac sign, their IQ number, or any other standardized result that attempts to group people into a very small rubric. The most beneficial thing is to forget about your previous preconceptions about who you think you should date, and just let your personal judgment and experiences work their magic.
carhill Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 As someone who is strongly intuitive and acts on feelings, I never pre-categorize potentials. All are equal at the beginning. Their actions and words and aura define their compatibility. Fun test
Citizen Drawn Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Did this a while ago always been an INFJ. Not sure it would help with dating because being an INFJ I have a natural ability to read people anyway.

Author pandagirl Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 I don't think Myers-Briggs is the be all end all, but I do think it gives a good insight to a person's personality!
Citizen Drawn Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I don't think Myers-Briggs is the be all end all, but I do think it gives a good insight to a person's personality! Well if you ask for their type and they are and ESTJ, stay away! Those people are feeling crushers.
Author pandagirl Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 Well if you ask for their type and they are and ESTJ, stay away! Those people are feeling crushers. I dated a textbook ESTP once. Not that much better than a ESTJ!
Citizen Drawn Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I dated a textbook ESTP once. Not that much better than a ESTJ! I hear you, relationships are quite tough for us INF's
Author pandagirl Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 I hear you, relationships are quite tough for us INF's Yes, other INF's don't really appeal to us, while most extroverted types don't want to take the time to get to know us. They're too impatient.

They're too impatient. INF's that do have a relationship - breakup is a total fallout as well. INF's tend to get deeply wounded by a breakup so if you have two of them it can be particularly hellish
carhill Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Dreamer, I had forgotten all about the Jung Meyer's Brigg's (my wife was into that stuff) and just googled it and took the first online one I found. While taking it, I got this feeling it was going to find me contradictory, much like I'm often found here

Now, other LSers...is it a good thing or a bad thing that I have a similar personality to Carhill
carhill Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 My mother's crazy so maybe that's a good thing (you having a different one) LOL... Oh, and definitely not good..... I'm starting to talk to the cat...
Citizen Drawn Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I'm ENFJ - is that good or bad? It's not really about good or bad, it's more about what naturally fits with you
jerbear Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I was INTP and changed to ENTJ. At one point I got INTJ. Kinda weird to take the test when you are working on a business plan versus when I was slacking off at work.
Gamine Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I am INFJ. Interesting how many INF's on LS, given that they say INFJ's comprise 1% of the population! Isn't that interesting?
dreamergrl Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It says I should go into counseling or psychology. After today... HELL NO.
