I am wanting to make a few friends that I can go along with when they're going to town or whatever. I'm on a great community site, got a few 'friends' on there that seem to be fairly outgoing and I chat to them every now and then, mostly asking how their weekend went. What is the best way of suggesting a meet up? I usually suggest coffee/lunch as this is safer, and we can go to a popular place with plenty of people. I think though that people still aren't keen on meeting someone 1-on-1. What is the best way of asking people if they'd like to hang out, or if I can join them, without coming across weird, etc. I did put a blog up saying how I'm lacking in friends and am keen to meet a few people that I can have drinks and stuff with, but I don't think people read my blog often so that's pretty pointless.
