Introduced by someone

Recommended Posts

I've been living in this huge city for 10 years now, and I swear, no one ever suggested to introduce me to a friend for romantic purposes.

I bumped into this guy who once hit on me and has been married for 2 years now (I never got interested in him), we got to talk about dating and I said I was almost giving up as it was so hard to meet someone appropriate.

He told me about a friend around my age and asked if I'd be interested. I said 'sure, why not'. So his friend just wrote me... he seems cute, appropriate for me, but I confess the whole situation makes me a little anxious as I am not used to being introduced like this.

I should be happy though, right? It makes more sense to be introduced through someone than meeting online (?) Guess I'm not used to it, but it's practically the same thing as the first guy is not really a friend.

Why am I getting anxious? Is it because of previous burnouts?

Everyone gets anxious about blind dates, but what with OLD and all, you'd think a recommendation from a friend would be a little safer feeling, but then there is the problem of feeling like you're letting your friend down if it doesn't go well. Still, it's nothing to worry about. You can always return the favor or introduce the rejectee or your friend to someone else and just keep expanding that circle of friends. Good luck!

True preraph! It's funny one of the countries I've lived in, that's what people do, they think about friends that could hit it off and introduce them.

I wish people did that everywhere...
