Is this friend bragging or does she think she's better than me?

Recommended Posts

I told this friend that I saw Mockingjay over the weekend, she then said she saw it the day before it came out and went to the "special" event feature where they showed the first hunger game movies. Then, I told her I was planning on getting a TV, she told me I shouldn't waste my money on curved Tvs or 4k tvs do to viewing angles and picture quality. Well, if she's telling me what I should spend my money on, shouldn't she make a damn suggestion on what I should buy?

Classic attempt at one-up-man-ship.

Just smile and let her say what she is going to say. How does it affect you in the long run?

You are going to do what you are going to do, spend your money on what you want, and be happy with your life.

Don't let her get to you.

What's a one up man ship??? And then to top that off when I was at her house, she was saying that she didn't have any any friends that are willing to take her anywhere because she can't drive since she's disabled. Well, um hello that makes me look bad, how the hell am I suppose to know that she wants to go out? I assume she can't because like half of the time she's not feeling well, is in pain, or is in and out of the hospital! Then I finally told her if she wants to go out, she should let me know, duh, it all

Depends on how she feels..

She makes herself feel better by belittling you and your choices.

It is self-defeatist, at best. It will push people away from her and she can then wallow in her loneliness and claim it is her disability that keeps others from her.

She doesn't see it, unfortunately.

I didn't tell her "what" TV I was buying, she was throwing suggestions in what I shouldn't waste my money on. And how the heck would she know if she doesn't even owned curved TV or 4k tv? She's got a damn 3d tb she brought like 4 years ago!

I don't see anything wrong with what she said. It depends a lot on her tone though, as well as how she normally is. If she is always a bragger, then it is probably bragging. If not, then she is just making conversation.
