Am I ugly or just need to lose weight?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been thinking of losing weight because I want to meet a girl as a girlfriend. I also want to lose weight to perserve my future health and also to be better at my martial art. I recently have thought that losing weight would make me turn into a jerk or make me another person. I have never received any attention from girls, and wonder if it is either because I am ugly or overweight?

You are neither ugly nor are you overweight.

I can't see too much from the picture, but I would say, what do you normally wear? Wearing stretched out t-shirts, old sweats, dirty sneakers and hair a mess aren't going to bring on the ladies.

Stylish clothing and haircut can go a long way.

Otherwise I don't see anything wrong with your weight, and your face is cute. Have a little more confidence in yourself. :)

Dude..over weight?

To be completely honest, you actually look a bit too skinny. I think you could stand to gain 20-30lbs of healthy weight from regular strength training. Also, I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with your looks. It's your depressed demeanor and your body language lacks confidence. I think if you work on feeling better about yourself, become happier/passionate about your life, and start working out, you'll be on your way.

But once again, you thinking you're over weight is ridiculous. You look like you're 140-150lbs soaking wet.

That is very nice of you to say, but if I were considered "cute" why don't you think I have ever been approached by girls. People have called me handsome, but I'm not sure if they were lying.

You are funny, I am actually about 230. I am fairly strong, when I spar at Jiu Jitsu my teammates call me the "angry panda", which is weird. haha

Try smiling! Or how about looking happy at least?

You look extremely depressed in that photo.

Is that your normal look and demeanor? If so, THAT could be the problem, not your looks.

Because being cute isn't enough.

When I started dating a very good-looking guy, he dressed in stretched-out t shirts, clothes that were WAY too big for him, and old, ripped clothing. He's got a very beautiful face, but his choice of dress did nothing for him. Now that he dresses up on our dates, he looks like a total stunner. He has a great body which is easy to see when he isn't being swallowed by clothes.

Same goes for you. If that grey t shirt is all you ever wear, then its no surprise that women don't approach you, even if you have a nice face. Put thought into your clothing, get a nice haircut, and be confident in yourself. You don't even have to be that good looking to get dates.

It was just a silly photo I had to take because I was getting sponsored by a Jiu Jitsu company. If I am not handsome, do you think I could become handsome?

Thank you for the very sweet confidence boaster.
