Had my first OLD date

I had my first OLD date last night.

She was nice and pretty friendly, but there was just no similarity in communication style and demeanor. Not too many activities in common but background was somewhat similar.

The date was still very long because I enjoy socializing with nice people and I could see myself dating her for a little, but nothing long term. No communication match. Unfortunately, that is what I was looking for.

The frustrating part is that I know that there are women out there who are a better match, it's just my looks that hold me back. As I said before, when you are getting rejected by 49 out of 50 women, the chance that 1 in 50 is going to match your personality style is just zero to none.

That's great! If nothing else, you'll learn how to communicate with others or get better at it.

Almost like practice dating and you'll make new friends too. It's good to see what's out there and when you click with someone, you'll know it.

An OLD date is a learning curve.....unless you are not afforded the chance to learn from it.

For most guys on OLD the dates are few and far between and what disappoints me most about failed dates is not so much that it didnt work out but rather that you never know when the next one is coming.

There's almost no way to make anything happen with such little volume, ya know. :bunny:

I feel so jealous of people who get many requests and dates.

Yup, basic rules of probability- the more women you meet the more chance you have of meeting 'the one'.

For me, I really can't get over how difficult it is as you get older just to meet people. It seems to require a lot of effort and energy just to open the doors to meet new people let alone then meet a girl that you like and who actually feels the same way in return.

From where I am now, currently no 'irons in the fire' and not much of a social life (I am VERY social, my friends however are not) a relationship is as unattainable as its ever been. I'm now of the opinion that I am a forever alone. C'est la vie, I comfort myself that at least thats still one rung up on the ladder from being stuck in a loveless marriage.
