6-month "anniversary" gift????

Ok. My b/f and I will have been dating for 6 months this coming Thursday (20th).

Do ya'll do anything special for 1/2 year anniversaries?? I'm not sure because this is the longest real relationship I've ever been in (I'm 20). And he's my first love.

But yeah, do ya'll go all out for 1/2 year anniversaries like ya'll do anniversaries? (Yeah, I know the real anniversary is more important).

I just wanna see what you guys do. Thaaaaanks.

Sally, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't give greeting card, jewelry, and chocolate companies another marketing idea!

But yeah, I'd consider six-month special. At least dinner, chocolate or a stuffed animal or flowers or something.

Actualy, the gifts I always enjoyed most though were the ones totally unexpected, no reason whatsoever...

Nahh hehe. I'm not gonna go OUT and buy something. I was thinking of making something of my own, as usual. Since it's the summer and I'm so bored, I can sit here and write a poem or something or a collage of our pictures together. Ionno.

Thanks for your input!

Personally, I'm not into gifts so much. What I value and treasure far more than a present is doing something together that will become a great memory for us both.

For example, my sister and I don't buy our parents Christmas presents that will just be forgotten or gather dust. We buy tickets for shows that we all go to together, carriage rides to see the lights downtown, a special dinner at an ethnic restaurant they would never in a million years try on their own...and now we remember Christmases as "that was the year we all went to see Blue Man Group!"

So, I'd recommend you plan a special outing...maybe a trip to an amusement park, complete with hot dogs and ice cream and laughing and giggling together and screaming on the rides and getting wet on the water rides and trying to win stuffed animals...or a trip to the zoo, if you like that sort of thing...or spend the day at a baseball game eating peanuts...treat him to something fun that you can both enjoy and remember together.

And I don't know about that naked thing HaHa

Hey,

Mine and my bf's anniversary is on the Wednesday 19th. Ha how cool!

Well, I'll be taking him out to dinner for one....aaaand I haven't really thought of anything else! Lol

I agree with stoopid_guy. The ones that are totally unexpected are the best ones. My bf seems to appreciate those ones more...

But anyway. He's rides dirt bikes so I'll probably be getting him something to do with his bike...

But all in all, I think I'll just be buying some sexy lingerie and having my way with him....

All the best! xx

Hey Lovestruck - this is bizzare! You have your anniversary on the 19th as well!!!??? No wonder you jokingly said "Lets meet up" in Sydney where I will be celebrating. I've had to double check to make sure you are not MY girlfriend!! But I can't be because I race go-karts not dirt bikes... Are you going to Sydney?? If I see you in MY restaurant, you are in big trouble. I can't imagine my GF buying me anything for my karting (I won yesterday, my first race since winning the state championship a few weeks ago) :-)

To the OP... I'm not buying any gifts, but going for a holiday, and the day will be full of special things. I just tried to think of the little things that I know my gf likes doing. Although I might have an engagement ring in my pocket as well..... (Still freaking out of this decision)....

Awww how CUTE! I've decided to make my b/f a memory box, and print out AIM convos we've had since January and the poetry we wrote to each other on FACEBOOK and also have some pictures of us together. I'm having so much fun with this. It gives me something to do!!!!

And another AWWW. That's what I've always imagined happening... having an engagement ring for an anniversary gift. Not the ring itself... just being officially proposed to. I can have a RING POP for all I care!! Because atleast it's EDIBLE!!! mmmmmmmmmmm. (The b/f and I always talk about marriage and he asks me to marry him all the time). GOOD LUCK WITH THE ENGAGEMENT!!!

Ha ha ha!!! WEIRD!! Well, you should be pretty certain that if your gf doesn't look like me in my avatar, then I'm not your gf. But still very bizarre!

No I live in Nowra. About an hour south of Wollongong. I'm taking him out on a surprise dinner in Nowra somewhere.

That's awesome about your go karting! You should get into motos! My bf has a few spare bikes you could borrow!

Well, I'm so so hoping you end up proposing to her. What could possibly go wrong? She won't reject you!

All the best!

Ps: I'm 100% sure your not my bf cos my bf doesn't even know how to turn a computer ON! Lol xx

Oh for CRYING OUT LOUD. I just figured out that our first date was January 27... not January 20. Damn it all. I was looking forward to it and EVERYTHING. We sure were fooled. Maaaaaaaaaan.

Grrrrrr. I guess it'll just give me more time to prepare. But STILL!!! When you look forward to a particular day and find out that it isn't that day you've been looking forward to afterall, yeah... it sucks. Now I gotta tell the boyfriend.

Awww it's ok. Like you said, more time to prepare! Well, today is the special day for me and my bf!! It's going to be so good tonight! He's going to love it! I hope!

But anyway, don't stress, he'll understand you just got them mixed up. He'll be cool about it.

The more time you have, the better it's going to be, trust me!

xx

Aw well I hope you had a great special day with your b/f!! Lemme know how it went!! I'm sure he loved everything.

I told my boyfriend about it. He was like, "Nuh uh. It was the 20th.." I told him it was the 27th because I was telling my friend all about my first date on AIM and AIM automatically saves conversations... so I saw the exact date I told her. lol. Then he was like, "Oh.. ok" and he pretty much just shrugged it off. I don't think it's that big a deal to him. He's been in relationships that have lasted years. As for me, this is the longest... so it means a lot to me and I will let him know it does.

Yeah... more time to prepare is always nice. I'm not that bummed out anymore hehe.

See?? Not so bad after all... this way, it may even give you more time to buy / make MORE things for him. (I like to spoil my bf...alot!)

Well, today has gone really well. We're both at work but he's rang me about 10 times to tell me he loves me and to see how my days going. I went out an bought carboard, sequins, stickers, etc cos I'm going to make him a card, and, (since he rides dirt bikes) I bought him a shower curtain that has all pictures of dirt bikes on it. And I bought some sexy lingerie (like I said I would). I restrained myself from buying him anything else since his birthday is coming up in August so I'm spoiling him then!!

Well, I'll fill you in on how it goes tonight!!

xx
