A girl I know well, who has had anorexia - for 17 years - and is obviously chronically underweight - has become pregnant. You might think, well if she's anorexic, she wouldn't have her period, but she is curently in a holding pattern weightwise and her period has returned. She is still massively underweight and skeletal. Her skin has a grey pallor and you can see the outline of her jaw and sunken eyesockets.
I would like to know why some guys don't appear to notice or care that they are having sex with someone who is chronically ill medically or physically? Can't they tell that she's anorexic or do they think that's attractive?
Same as Hollywood actresses that always make the sexiest list or have suitors runnign after them. e.g. Nicole Kidman looks like Skeletor. Angelina's arms and legs look like they have that anorexic look with the fine, downy hair on the arms. Don't guys notice this?
It may depend on the area you live in. When I was going to school in New York City, I was very underweight from stress and just not having any money. I was probably a good fifteen pounds underweight. I looked borderline anorexic....meaning I looked too skinny but not SICK sick.
Anyway, you wouldn't believe on how many people complimented me on my 'dancer's body' and 'tiny waist'. In the meantime, my hair was falling out from poor nutrition.
Maybe people just become so accustomed to that 'look' it doesn't bother them. I think if you live in an area where there are a lot of emaciated model and actress types walking around, you think that's how women should look.
I also knew a true anorexic who did get pregnant and managed to gain about 15 pounds during her pregnancy (that's the bare minimum you should gain). She looked like death warmed over.
I can't imagine someone wanting to have sex with a person whose hipbones and ribs are jutting out....
She said her husband had a real complex about weight and warned her 'not to gain too much'
So there's some men with a real sickness out there toO!
I think men who say they aren't attracted to super skin and bones girls are just trying to make us pudgier girls feel better about ourselves. I also think that diet obsessed girls are less fun personality-wise (I know I am when I'm crazy dieting). I genuinely believe that men prefer BOAS (Boobs on a stick ) but there just aren't that many of them.

I know several exs of mine who rejected girls for being too skinny. I'm muscular and small (Size 6) but I don't look awfully skinny. When I did get very skinny one time, I actually got told I wasn't as attractive by a number of people.
When I was a 4, I got a lot more compliments. I get no compliments now (6). I'm pretty muscular as well, and short, so a 6 is pretty big for me. I was also really tan then. Not to derail, but not being tan is what I think has mostly cost me being pretty. *sniff* OK, enough pity party for Cat...
Sorry but I'm with catgirl on this one, boobs on a stick. Although some do like @ss on a stick, heck some even like both boobs and @ss on a stick. You probably won't get a man replying to this either. It's a subject they rarely touch on LS. The ones that do reply are usually just trying to make you feel better.
Your friend needs to seek nutritional help for her baby's sake although if she's really anorexic it's likely she'll miscarry.
Ug, an anorexic girl does not look like your garden variety skinny chick. The ones I have known look like they came out of a death camp- I don't know how anyone could find that attractive enough to sleep with, unless they are equally screwed up.
It's very sad to hear this girl is pregnant- most likely she's endangering her health further and the health and possibly life of her child.

Trust me, not all anorexics look emaciated. You don't know about the ones that look normal because you wouldn't suspect it of them.
Perhaps this is the area of the world ya'll live in? Because down here even the strippers who have no ass get less tips. The strippers with a big booty get more $$ in my area. And it seems like the men seem to like "big booty hos".....

I'm , no doubt, older than the rest of you girls who have posted, (I'm 45...and hanging in there) -but there are so many reasons to feel 'bad' about how you look, when you allow magazines, tv, and silly celebrities to set the standard.
Never allow them that.
Those people don't know you, don't love you, and can't appreciate you, -so don't ever allow them to dictate to you.
While we can't deny the influence of all those beautiful people and trend-setting notions cast upon us in all types of media, just remember that we are still the majority, here, -still kicking and creating the real standards.
As for how your partner views you? -well, he may be attracted to certain physical aspects of how you look, -he may even compare, -but he'll most likely stick around because you like/love yourself.

Well, I'm in Australia which is really just like the USA where this sort of culture is concerned.
I think it is just so sick.
For most of my life I've been overweight - not morbidly obese but overweight. I was teased and harassed and when I got to dating age, realised how differently guys treat girls who have a few extra kilos. I developed bulimia and my weight has yo-yoed because I wanted to be thin so people would be nice to me.
I've got it under control now though and am fit, healthy, eat well, exercise a lot. I'm not skinny but I'm fat. However, I still have a fat girl's mentality and this constant barrage of emaciated women who are obviously not eating and unwell being held up as icons of beauty sends my inner fat chick into a rage.
It's one of the reason why girls develop eating disorders.
