Contradictions in the Bible?

I firmly believe there are NO contradictions in the Bible. There have been a lot of members claiming that the Bible is full of them.

I contend that in order for the Bible to be God's Truth, there can be NO contradictions.

I'd like some examples so I can examine them for myself......

Interesting to me:

Quote:
War or Peace?
EXO 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

ROM 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Quote:
Who is the father of Joseph?
MAT 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

LUK 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.
Quote:
Is Jesus equal to or lesser than?
JOH 10:30 I and my Father are one.

JOH 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

I took a class by a reputable Harvard professor that covered contradictions in the bible, but I don't want to be the one to shake ur faith - I still have my class notebook and the bible pages underlined, marked and notated with many many obvious contradictions, accepted by academia around the world. Some so huge and obvious, that judging by the last thread, there will be long elaborate creative justifications in an attempt to excuse them. I'll step back and watch others come up wtih their own.

I saw a man on a talk show last night who used to be a born-again Christian. He wanted to know the Bible better so studied Greek so he could read it in the original. When he found out that there is no 'original' version of the Bible, he got more and more interested. Now he has written a book called "Misquoting Jesus" about all he has learned. His name is Bart Ehrman.

*smile* why, God, of course!

Exodus & Romans Scripture quotes: one is OT, other NT – there are different understandings of God, but if you recall, Jesus and what he taught fulfilled what the OT taught. In essence, he was the reconciling force that brought God and mankind back together, therefore he preached a God of love. OT depicted God as parent who was strictly a disciplinarian.

no contradictions in the Bible? Because the Bible has been translated for many centuries, there is room for error when you think of the typos made as people hand-copied pages for new copies of the Bible, then later, when Guttenberg copied the first Bible on a moving press, possibility for error then, and always, when authors translated from one language to another, then to a third or fourth.

most importantly, though, people need to remember that the Bible is a spiritual account of man's relationship with God, and that there are many different authors giving input on how they perceived Him.
