For whatever reason, she decided that I needed to have a special day / birthday kinda thing over the weekend. My birthday isn’t until August. So she asked my Mom to help her out with it. She helped her make a cake, and my daughter wrapped up these two posters she got with some of the toys she got for her birthday earlier this month as a present for me. Do I have an awesome kid or what?
And it was so damn cute too! Because it was supposed to be a surprise for me. I’m sitting in the next room while they are baking the cake, and she tells me "not to come into the kitchen while they are making the cake, oops, I mean surprise". And I can hear her tell my Mom “whew, that was close!” It was just so cute and funny!
You know, I can't even describe the feeling I got from that. It was just so sweet and so selfless on her part.

You've definately got a "daddy's girl" on your hands. They're so much fun at that age.
You've had to put up with alot of negatives in order to protect this relationship with your child, D.....but the payoff is definately worth the trouble.
It's the little things that make all the hard work worth it! My SO's little boy seems to have finally caught on that Daddy will always come back. The last few times he's dropped him off, instead of howling and not letting go, he gone to his Mum fine and then blown my SO a kiss! He's just so happy to see his son more comfortable with the situation....
Kids can be a joy and they can also be a pain in the a@@, but when they want to show they love you and care they just melt your heart. That is so sweet what she done .

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go. ~
Awwww, DD, what a sweet story. My daughter said last night, "Mom, did you know if you listen to what your mommy and daddy say, then you'll stay on the planet a long long time?" I said, "Who told you that honey?" and she said, "Pasow Ewic" (pastor eric). Pretty cute!
What I love about being a parent is that you can be at your lowest and one comment from them can push the clouds away and bring in the sun!
