I have a friend that has a neighbor that got a full blooded pit bull and started giving the dog steriods to make it bigger ..The dog is only 4 to 5 mths and they have been giving the dog steriods since it was 8 wks old ..They are complaining about tearing stuff up but it more intense and my friend thinks it is the steriod s.. The steriod they are giving the dog happens to be what you would give a horse not sure what it is called.. My question is they have three small childern youngest is 3 and the other two are 7 & 8 .. Isn't this dangerous to give a dog steriods and them having children in the house .. Not knocking pit bulls but they can be mean and the steriods would seem to make them meaner and more aggressive.. What do you think about this situation?
Yes it can be dangerous, not only for the dog, but the kids and all involved. Theres no reason to pump and animal of any kind full of steriods. if you friend has proof that they are infact doing that she can be in contact anonomously to the pound or either the police.

So you're saying that your friend knows this, knows that its harmful to the animal and that kids safety are at risk but shes not willing to turn them in? Shes bascially a contributing factor then.

Yes they are and she knows that this is a bomb getting ready to explode.. Something is going to happen and her friends h will be to blame.. Her neighbor is a good friend and she doesn't want her being in trouble because of her white trash redneck hubby .. My friends neighbor doesn't agree with this at all it is the h and she is scared to say to much to him .. She does whatever he says!! My friend has told them how she feels because her other friend breeds pits and told her what could happen..This is why she told them but they seem not to care..He told her that he knows alot of others doing it and the dogs are fine..

She basically either needs to turn them in and risk them being p*ssed at her, or she does nothing and possibly risks innnocent kids safety being harmed because the parents or whoever is being stupid. Personally I couldn't sit back and do nothing, knowing whats going on, and that theres some danger there with kids in the home. I would feel awful if something happened to one of those kids because of my selfishness for not letting some outside source know whats going on. That would be like me standing there watching a kid get abused, know what happened, and walk away. Guess its up to your friend what she wants to do though.
She don't want to because her h works with the hubby of her neighbor's friend..Could cause alot of problems there if she did..She doesn't agree and knows it can be harmful but she would rather stay out of it.. Could cause major conflict.. I came here to get opinions and advice not to bash her..She knows it is wrong but she doesn't want to be involved..Can't blame her can't say that i would either ..

I know what they can do to humans, as I knew a couple of guys in school that took them, one OD'd and died. I can only imagine what they would do to an animal.....

I don't even know this person that is my friends neighbor and they don't live near me so it won't be my child that gets attacked .. I see what you are saying Outcast but it isn't my place ..

Agree with you and Outcast..they are idoits !! She thought they was going to fight with the dog because they was giving the steriods to the dog but they are wanting to breed the dog so they can sell the puppies ... She suggested to walk the dog with weights on so that it will bulk the muscle up naturally but they said that other poeple are doing it and the dogs are fine so i don't know..

Holy crap. It's bad enough they have a PITBULL, but to give it steroids is crazy. I fear for the safety of those kids lives. Those dogs are known to be vicious to begin with, I wouldn't ever want to be around one on steroids.

That is my thought exactly ..Pitbulls can be mean and vicious already with adding steriods to it.. Steriods can be bad for humans and does bodily harm can't imagine what it is doing to this dog..
