Hello everybody, This message is the conclusion of "Too many exes" "jealousy" and "Ready to make a decision..." (for all those who actually paid attention and were waiting on the edge of their seats for the conclusion). Well, it's done. Had "the talk" tonight. Just isn't right. Not much more to be said, but wanted to tell you all... The girl made me nuts, and for whatever reason it just wasn't supposed to work out. I'm not feeling much about it now, but give me a few days, since we cancelled our New Year's plans...

Hey 'No Longer', just wanted to give you my support. It is such a cliche I know, but you HAVE done the right thing. And yes, of course it will be hard, particularly at first...and now that the new year's celebrations are before us, you may feel sad that you can't share this night with her. But, I'm spending it quietly with just a few friends. No man in my life anymore...and big deal! It is nice to have a partner, but they do NOT make us "whole", and really, aren't the best relationships the ones that do not continuously cause us worry and anxiety? You sound like such a lovely, considerate man; one completely unafraid to express how you feel. I have absolutely no doubt that sometime soon, you will meet a really nice lady and fall madly, passionately in love...with each other. In the meantime, you can fall madly in love with your own life again. I wish you a VERY happy and peace filled new year. Take care, Tigerlily.

Just wanted to thank you both for your kind words. I just went back and read what you said to get that tiny bit of reassurance that the decision was the right one, which I know it is. I can't help but feel a bit of disappointment right now, though, because I had made this ultimate "date" for us on New Year's in New York (suite on Central Park South with a balcony overlooking the fireworks, etc.) and of course I had to cancel the plans because there was NO WAY I was going to start this year off with an uncertain, and probably detrimental, situation. Fortunately I was able to sell it to a couple I knew from graduate school, so it didn't go to waste.

The best thing for me as I start this new century is to know that I have begun it with the capacity to make healthy decisions for myself. And with that, I thank you all, and hope to return the kindness someday.
