Is there a difference between Friends with Benefits and Casual Dating somebody?

Dumb. One is FWB, One is Casual dating.

Um yeah, I appreciate the help.....so casual dating involves emotional ties (but not as much a serious one), and FWB does not?

I've just never really been one to label my relationships.

FWB is mostly about what you can get out of the situation only while you are having it. There is no outside commitment outside of that, generally speaking. Casual dating is where you are determining whether or not you want to have any outside commitments past your dates.

My Definitions are:

Friends with benefits:

A mutal decision between consenting 'friends' - where sex/affection is shown without commitment or relationship .. although you still can respect each other, and enjoy each others company - there are no real ties....so each person can still find a new lover, at any time.

Casual Dating:

You are not in a relationship - but do go on occasional dates and are getting to know each other, but still open to possibilities which can include dating other people at the same time (usually not sexually involved, otherwise it could just be a "booty call")

Booty Call:

You only see each other for sex - when needed - that's all.
