What did your H do to prove to you how sorry he was for his part of the A? What did he say or do to show how sorry he was?

My H and I were still seperated after his A w/ the exOW. We lived in different towns so we would email, IM, and talk on the phone a lot. He gave me cards, flowers, and poems and just did little things like help around the house more to show that he was sorry.


While on my computer 2day I found a poem he emailed me and just wanted to share it.

MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY


I KNOW I DON’T ALWAYS TELL YOU,
OR SHOW MY LOVE FOR YOU EVERY DAY.
BUT KNOW DEEP DOWN FROM MY HEART,
I LOVE YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY.

WE’VE BEEN THROUGH A LOT TOGETHER,
AND THE FUTURE HOLDS SO MUCH MORE.
ITS AS BIG AS THE SKY ABOVE US,
AND LIKE TWO BIRDS INTO IT WE WILL SOAR.

I KNOW WHAT I’VE DONE HAS HURT YOU,
I WOULD TAKE IT ALL AWAY TO START AGAIN.
I’VE ASKED YOU FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS,
AND I’VE PRAYED TO GOD TO FORGIVE MY SIN.

I TOOK YOU AS MY WIFE AND FRIEND,
AND SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY.
I FORGOT TO TREAT YOU LIKE THE QUEEN YOU ARE,
AND THIS HURTS ME MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY.

BUT I WANT TO START US OVER,
AND FIND THE LOVE WE BOTH DO SHARE.
BECAUSE MY LOVE FOR YOU IS WORTH SAVING,
AND ABOUT YOU I WILL ALWAYS CARE.

AND SHARE IN EACH OUR LOVE..
THE ROAD WE TAKE WILL HAVE MANY BUMPS,

AND I WILL DO A BETTER JOB OF SHOWING YOU THAT,

Sounds like he is very sorry, and truly means it. I hope your giving him a chance.. :-)

Actions speak louder than words, but in this case the words need to be heard and felt, emotionally not only visually.

I wish you the best and that poem is very moving.

Read DazednConfused's thread called My wife made a stupid mistake (you might have to dig afew pages in this section to find it) it is a long read, but well worth it. It's his ups and down as a BS and tells what his wife had done to fix things between them.

By the way, I changed my screen name. It use to be StillHurtin. I just figured it was time to move on from that screen name b/c it was so close to the time of the A and I was still hurting. I have healed a lot since I started posting here at LS so I just don't think StillHurtin really applied to me anymore.
