Maid of honor question?

Just wondering something......does the Maid of Honor have to give a toast when the best man does at the reception? I have seen some do this and some do not? anyone know what is supposed to be done?

Traditionally, no. The bride's party doesn't speak at all - unless they want of course!

I just stood up in my best friends wedding. I gave a toast - the best man did also. You might just double check with the bride if she would like you to or not. I had every intention of giving one, and the bride was all for it.
