my boyfriend of 6 months just broke up with me two days ago because he said he needed time to figure things out and make sure he wanted to have a girlfriend right now. he said he just needed to be single right now to not have the responsibilities of having to call me or come over or see me at time everyday and he just wanted to be able to not have to worry about those responsibilies for now. he said this is just temporary and he just needed time. he said not to give up on us and he did not want me to give up on him either. i told him i would not and that i would always love him no matter what. we did end the relationship so we are just friends for now and eventually will try to get back together if it is meant to be. he says there is no one else that he wants or is looking for anyone. he said he wants me and is in love with me but just needs time to figure things out for himself and he can only do that if he's single.

he recently lost a few thousands dollars on a business venture and has started a new job which is very stressful on him. because he lost a few thousand dollars on his business venture he was forced to move back home with his parents at the age of 26. he graduated college in the fall and has changed a lot since. before i met him he was quite the ladie's man and had been with a lot of girls compared to any guy i had known. since he met me he calmed down and even told me on several occasions he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and was in love with me.

all those stresses could make him really stressed out. i just don't know what is really meaning. he calls daily at least once and before he goes to bed. he even says he loves me and misses me. is he just prolonging the official breakup and that he does not want me back for good, or is he just healing and getting his life together and making sure i know (by calling me and saying the things he does) that he does eventually want to be together again? please help i'm so much in love with him and i just want things back to normal.

Sounds like he has broken up with you. Fortunately for you, you came to this site early in your break up so take the advice found here. When your ex is in that stage where he calls regularly and says he misses and loves you, and its only a few days after he ended it, I think if you have no contact with him you might have a chance. But thats no guarantee. But no matter what, do not plead, beg, cry etc in front of him or on the phone.

Yikes! Okay, my ex did the same thing to me, we broke up, she called every day, told me she loved me for awhile yet, said she wanted to be with me in the future and told me to date others for awhile (even though she got jealous when I did), told me she was still in love with me. Well, 2 months later she starts dating another, then goes from one guy to the next, just like this huge dating spree! Yeah, I was pissed and lost.

Okay, he will either get more distant and start to date others as time goes on, or he will miss you and want to get back together. Mine is still dating others and is playing head games and all kinds of ****. It has been hell and I had to do NC for 2 months.

My absolute best advice to you if he doesn't start to come around is to start acting "BUSY" and start doing more things, hang with friends, go out, even go on some dates, make yourself look good, workout, tan, get a new haircut, call him less, answer his calls less, and make him see that you are not sitting at home pinning away for him. He will be afraid that he is loosing you, and if he loves you he won't let that happen. Don't sleep with him either, because then if your giving him all of the relationship without the relationship he will get comfortable like that.
