My ex-boyfriend and I broke up for the first time after 4 years about a year ago. He had kissed another girl and I found out. We lived together and I moved out. We got back together 3 months later for about 3 months, but it didn't work, so we broke up again.

Recently, we began hanging out again. We have slept together a few times. We are starting to hang out with mutual friends together. I like that it is going slow, but I am confused about where we actually stand. I know that women are constantly trying to figure this kind of thing out, but I don't want to ask the cliche questions.

I don't think he is interested in dating anyone else. I don't think I am either. Is there a good way to approach this topic without putting labels on our status and it getting too serious? I know men hate to discuss this kind of thing with the girls they see. I am still in love with him and I guess I am trying to figure out if he is still in love with me without going back to the married-type of couple we were before.

Any advice?

im in a very similar situation. the thing u must figure out is, why did u break up the first time? fix it. do not fall into the same old habits.

I guess you're right. Figuring out what went wrong and changing it is much more imporatant than defining where we stand...
