I have a quick question. Hopefully someone can help me out.

How do you get rid off those red scars you get when you have acne? Is there any home recipes for it?

i wanna know too!! lol

i made an appointment at this dermatologist place this tuesday...

i think the only way to get rid of them is through dermabrasion, or skin resurfacing... i think certain chemical peels may help too but who knows!

i plan on getting the dermabrasion. i have no idea how much it costs but i can always charge that to my macy's card lol.

they have some over the counter medications. they have this do it your self micro dermabrasion kit...which is like $20-$30 i have no idea if that works either...um... everything i have tried doesnt work...its real upsetting... i mean my skin isnt bad at all... i just have like 3/4 marks i want to get rid of

Pure Vitamin D (even if you take it from the capsule) or they have OTC scar removal, kinda expensive though. Keep up the H2O intake too.

Don't any of you watch extreme makeover, or the swan? Catch a few episodes, they have treated acne and scars successfully with laser therapy....

Well, do you want it to work or would you just rather blow money on something that doesn't, really? The surgeons and specialists on that show obviously cost a lot more, A. Because they're in the L.A. area and B. They're the top of their profession. You can still get laser therapy from a decent, but not famous, dermatologist. Do your research on google, not that hard.

Several options. Retinol isn't effective as far as I'm aware in the treatment of scars-like coco butter doesn't do jack for stretch marks AFTER you've got them. Same with Vitamin D. Yes, they have beneifits to your skin, you can put Vitamin D on surgical scars after to help minimize scarring etc (with doctor's approval) but for facial acne scars it's just not going to cut it.

So, you need to consult to decide what you can afford, what will actually work for your skin, and then do it or save up for it, instead of blowing $$ on over the counter sh*t or lotions that don't actually work.

Come to Tennessee and act like a hillbilly and get it done here. They'll be like "Huuuuuuhhhhh?" and you might be our first case ever. :D YAY!

I'm sure your face looks fine. Your scars will likely heal with time. Have you tanned?

Cuz you're scars look less noticeable...I had a couple of small red ones and when I'm all pale, you can see it better...I tanned and it appeared less obvious. Go tan.

At this point I'll do anything. I am not used to having any marks on my face so right now it's the end of the world for me!!!!

I have heard Vitamin E capsules (opened up) and using the gel from it, (u can get the inexpensive brand from walmart) they are good for ALL scars and overall good skin.

I've been using them since having surgery and my scars are fading very quickly! :) It's worth a try right? ;)

Are you serious???? Do you think it works on acne scars?

My surgeon told me on ALL scars of any type, so I think acne scars would be included, since I'm assuming they aren't "deep" and "old" scars, it should clear them up with no problem. My scars were deep and very red/purple, now they are flesh colored and like flat and pretty much not visible. (i know they are there) but over time it should make them pretty much non-exsitant.

I say try it, acne scars are probably curable more easily than deeper scars so I think it could really work! :)
