My gf "Katie" is the most important person in my life, and I love her with all my heart. We have been dating for about 9 months and recently alot of **** has come to a head for her. Her mom curses at her, calls her stupid (even though she had a 100 average last quarter!!), calls her a bitch, tells her to go to Hell, asks her to go **** herself, and even hits her repeatedly. "Katie" used to cut herself to numb the pain, although she has stopped since we have been going out. She is afraid to go home and her mother fiunds excuses to stop her from leaving the house, so she can degrade her more. What should I do??

What a horrible situation. Can you give us a bit more info so we can help? How old are you both? Where do you live, and what resources do you have in that area - such as Child Protective Services, etc.? What personal options does she have - aunts, grandmother, close family friend, etc.?

We are both 15 and live in a suberb on NYC. My father workds for protective services but says that there is nothing that he can do unless she comes forward with the information. She is too afraid of her parents, plus the fact that she can't go to the police because her parents know them all, and they won't take her away. She truly is afraid to talk to anyone because it always reverts back to her mother, she is afraid of the torment and the pain that her mother puts her through but she can't do anything about it BECAUSE of her fear......
