Songs you like to listen to when you are depressed

When you are feeling down, what do you listen to? In particular, when you are down about an ex?

My faves are almost anything by Radiohead. In particular, "In Limbo"

I don't know if that song is even anything about heartbreak, but for some reason I have been putting that song on repeat here lately. I also like "blue" by A Perfect Circle.

So, what do you all listen to?

anything from rock to pop

I like Only Wanted from Mariah Carey and then some Linkin Park or Perfect circle like you've said. Mainly anything heavy....
Mariah carey is for my girly side lol

I like 'Displaced' by Azure Ray. It's purdy to sing along to. And I am embarrassed to admit that Avril is good for heart pains. Sometimes anyway. Oh and I like to listen to the Beatles because they have the big range- happy dancey songs to slow sad ballads. Gets ya through all moods.

When I'm depressed, I tend to feed it with fairly depressing music:

Joy Division
Silent Hill 2 and 4 soundtracks
Travis
Pink Floyd: The Wall
NIN
The Smiths/Morrissey

Sometimes I go with depressing music when I'm down, like some of the great love songs from Chicago. Other times, I try and lift my spirits, and the inspirational Journey tunes "I'll Be Alright Without You" and "Girl Can't Help It" do the trick. Music always seems to help, though, just like good friends.

When I am heartbroken I steer clear off ANY SONG that reminds me of him!

Apart from that, anything as usual

Elton

A friend of mine listens to Elton John's "The Bitch Is Back" after he gets dumped. I think he has adopted it as the theme song for his life. Lol.

I listen to "Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd. Album Dark Side of the Moon.

The female solo is a perfect representation of how I am feeling when I am down.

Or have Ashlee Simpson perform at your house. Your neighbors will boo her off the stage, and you'll feel great!

Jeff Buckley. Esp "Last Goodbye"

Mariah Carey and Bone Thugs "Breakdown"

Ween "Baby Bitch" (also, when I'm silly, "Piss up a Rope")

Ben Folds Five "Song for the Dumped"

Is it money mark? "Sometimes You Gotta Make It On Your Own"

Alicia Keys "Karma"

I think Morcheeba did "Let it Go" and "Over and Over"

Tracey Chapman "Give Me One Reason"

Postal Service "Give Up"

Crue "Girl, Don't Go Away Mad..."

Ugly Kid Joe "I hate everything about you"

Elvis: "[You ain't nothing but a] Hound Dog"

I like that one no matter what mood I'm in though!

I like Big Band music when I'm depressed -- gets me up and dancing! (usually)

I also like Mozart's Comic duet "Nun liebes Weibchen" and "Requiem Mass"

And Aretha's "Respect"
