It depends on the women. I find that younger women (younger than 25) are generally unwilling to look past the physical when choosing a partner. The younger they are, the less likely they are going to be able to overlook physical imperfection. Its about conformity and acceptance by their peers. Its the rare young lady who will date a guy that all her friends think is 'ugly'. Rare indeed. Your acne may not be a turnoff for her necessarily - but if she knows that all her friends will think less of her for dating you, then you won't have a chance in Hades.

As women get older though, many reach a point where it is no longer important to choose a mate based on societal acceptance - they choose a mate that is right for them, regardless of physical traits.

I guess in your case, the age bracket of your dating pool will affect your odds.

Have you tried talking to a dermatologist about it, or are you taking the OTC route?

It depends on the severity. For the most part, acne is a bigger turn-off for males than females, since guys are more visual.

However, you DO NOT have to deal with this! No adolescent or adult does.

Stay away from the sunlamps and off-the-shelf products. They will only make things worse.

Get to a professional DERMOTOLOGIST! They can take care of this for you effectively and permanently. And it won't cost you nearly as much as you think - far less than what you've been paying for those drugstore snake oils!

The sooner you do it the better. It will eliminate any potential scarring you may have later on. I promise - you won't regret it! And your insurance or your parent's health insurance may even cover the cost.

I don't have too much of a problem with my face, but more on my back. It's hard to keep it clean because the clothing on top causes oils to stay on.

My husband had serious acne, he has huge scares and pot holes all over his face, chest and back. When I was with him (when times were good). I never noticed a thing. I loved him for who he was inside. Hold your head high. Personality is what determines what you look like on the outside. Anyone who says otherwise, isn't beautiful enough for you!

I used to have terrible acne - but lately its been going away. Usually it does start to die down with age. Making sure to wash with hot water every day usually would help me out, though sometimes it would bring one to the surface quicker - it would also make it go away quicker too. Sometimes though - I would break out and there was nothing I coudl do but grin and bear it. I had certain people mention it every once in a while - but for the most part - nobody really cared about it. I know I got a few scars from it but it really doesn't show up that much (at least to me) and occasionally I'll get a pimple or two, but I've been pretty clear since I got out of high school.

...stop worrying about pleasing others...in the end all that matters is yourself...ladies come and go but you can't get rid of yourself... In the grand scheme of things, look out for yourself over everyone else. No one, not even your family and your closest friends, will keep you in mind all the time... only you can do that.
this may not apply to you but you sound self-conscious and out to please others.

Accept this stage of your life and be yourself

Accept who you are, be confident, show the ladies what a great personality you have and they will see beyond your acne no matter what you look like without it.
