Kinda another repeat from my earlier post but I have a problem getting close to people and I want to change that any advice?

Emotionally mainly I lost my dad 5 years ago and ever since Ive distanced myself from those I care about at a certain time as to not become to close to them.

I know it's easier said than done..but like the song says "you've got to love like you'll never get hurt...it's got to come from the heart if you want it to work" which means that when you feel the wall going up or you sense yourself pushing away from those that care about you-try to force a manual override to an automatic reaction. There's one major thing you must learn-You will get hurt-it's part of life-but you could miss out on some of the most wonderful memories just by trying to keep out the bad. Trust me -it's worth the risk.
