ex/bf coming back ?

I am very close to a certain male from having been friends with him for almost 10 years and have always considered and treated him like an elder brother. We are so close to each other and can talk about any topic under the sun which in most cases we don't share these things with anyone else, even our own partners. We were always there for each other through ups and downs all these years but i always took it as we were gonna be good friends.

The part where it gets complicated is, in our younger days, we were dating for some time but decided to break it off. We were 'college sweethearts' but ever since the break up we have been in relationships with other people and i have met some of his girlfriends (after me) and likewise.

All these years of staying good friends and now he's making his move on me? I was out with him yesterday, just the two of us until quite early in the morning we were both pissed drunk and he kept bringing up stories about our happy moments in the past. I know him well enough, and if i was reading him correctly, and it did look like the conversation was going towards asking for a second chance. I had to cook up some excuse end the night.

It has never crossed my mind to ever ever have a romantic relationship with this guy and I don't think I can do that. To me, he's one of my few 'male best friends' and I love him in a different way. I feel so bad that I did not see this coming earlier.

Could that be why he called last week and made me promise I will be his date for his company dinnernext month. Groan... I was so blur!

I know I have to deal with this. Sigh! Not too sure what to do though.

If the topic comes up, just be honest with him.

Exactly. I don't think you have anything to "deal with" until he actually pops the question, so to speak.
