What would you do if it were your mother?
Advice and suggestions please.
My mother of 54 years, just went through a "mid life crisis" so to speak.
She quit her job of 23 years insisting she was going to remarry my father and that he was going to support her. Well my father is a bum, he cheated on her even before they were married and they've been divorced longer than I've been alive, 25 years. He's an alcoholic, he smokes pot and he sleeps with every female over the age of 18 that he can get his hands on. He does not want my mother, he wants someone to drive him around cause his eye sight is going, he's had several minor strokes, a couple minor heart attacks, but yet he continues to be the bum he always was.
So anyways, she decides not to marry him, thank god, and moves in with me and my family. She refusses to get a job, and she feels I should pay for her car payments, insurance, credit cards, etc. She constantly picks fights, mostly when she's bored. She insist my marriage wont last because none of her marriages lasted past 7 years. Me and hubby will be celebrating 5 years next month. so she's really laying on the pressure.
She constantly picks on my hubby, usually when bored, but he's never here, he works 2/3 of the month away from home and then when he is home we usually get a room at a nearby hotel, just to have peace and quiet when he's home.
I know I can't put her before my family, but what am I suppossed to do. Kick her out. She has nowhere to go. My oldest brother lives 3500 miles away, but he doesn't want her anyways. My other brother lives just 4 miles away, but he wants nothing to do with it, saying I'm her daughter so it's my responsibilty. And my little brother, well he's only 19, in boot camp and well, I wouldn't put the burrden on him anyways.
You know the saying 'kids make your hair turn gray' well that may be true, but parents make you go bald! I could pull my hair out!
My life is so busy, and stressful, watching the kid, taking care of the house, making sure the bills are payed on time, grocery shopping, cooking nutrisious meals for my growing toddler, walking the dog, and then being a woman(with all the problems that come with it), mood swings, pms, etc. And keeping hubby happy when he's around, talking on the phone with him everynight. And not to mention I'm remodeling the master bath(no peaceful hot soaks for me for a while longer), and am landscaping the yard too.
And not to mention, watching Dora the Explorer a million times a day! I could toss that DVD out the window!
Out the window, over the trees and to the green yard... lol... (sorry lame joke)
So suggestions and/or advice please...
And hey, if anyone wants to trade spaces... lol... or at least mothers...
