A Love Shack Meet and Greet??

What does everyone think about trying to arrange a Love Shack Reunion?

I was reading how Fayebelle & Yellow Lioness recently met and had a great time. Personally I think this is a great board and a lot of fun with a great bunch of people.

I am thinking (with the LS Admin permission of course) of arranging a cruise or a vacation at some all-inclusive resort for the Love Shackers to meet.

Here come the disclosure part--I own a travel agency so there is an inherent motive, but I am willing to rebate 90% of my commissions to Love Shack for their expenses and growth--they always have that thermometer on the front page! If they don't need all the $$$ we could look to apply it towards a discount for everyone or perhaps even offer "scholarships" to help individuals with the money.

I think it would be great fun to have a welcoming party and offer soem sort of wild prize for the person who can identify the most members--after all we really do not know what we all look like in person.

The cost--I am guessing here would be in the range of $2000 to $2500 per couple but does not include airfare or getting there.

So, I will toss this out to the masses and see if anyone else thinks this might be a good idea? Moderators? Administrators? Any ideas as to destination? MExico, Caribbean, New Orleans, Cruise?

It would be a great idea, but I for one don't know about taking time off etc. (I own my own business..but still, it's pretty hectic).
It would be fantastic to meet a lot of the people on here.

When I tossed out pricing, it was a guesstimate and it was based on a week for two.

But certainly a long weekend would be as easy to do and a lot less expensive!

We'd have to arrange one in different countries making it easier for folks to attend a get together......however if ppl wanted to travel, all the better.

I've seen other boards arrange to have members meet in their respective countries on the same date.

However a week long excursion is not in the budget at this time. My BF and I are doing home renovations, getting the house ready to put on the market.

I've also started my own side business and can't get away for a while.

However, I live near a couple of major cities: Philadelphia and New York City. If any LS'ers want to arrange a meeting in either place, I'll show up for the cocktails!
