My g/f and I broke up after 3 years of dating 2 weeks ago. We had broken up for 2 months before and it ended the same way as it did this time too. She said that she loved me, but wasn't IN love with me. So when we broke up, I decided to not make any communications with her and try to move on for good. I really do love this girl, but she has hurt me so many times before. Since we broke up we have not contacted eachother until yesterday. She text me and said "She was at home for funeral, my friends dad died." So now I sit and wonder if I should reply to her or if she was just trying to get me to respond with something. I knew her friend too and I heard about the death so I text the friend before my ex even told me about it just to send my regards. So my question is if anyone thinks it is wise for me to respond to my ex's text message, or if I should just let it sit for awhile longer. I do still love this girl, but she needs to grow up. I just want some kind of reason why she would send a message like that. Oh, and the death was not spontaneous, it was known that it was coming. Any advice would help me out. Thanks.
