I say fight for him! You were together a long time, and you both say you love each other. You just need to truly work on this about yourself. Really try and learn to not sweat the small stuff. Talk to him about this. Do you want to change? If you do, then tell him that and promise him that, and then follow through with your promise. I wish I knew exactly what you meant by "petty things" because then maybe I could give some advice to you on how to work on that! I am one of the most anxious people you will ever meet, and I have worked really hard on not sweating the small stuff and only worrying about what matters! Me working on this, and working on myself has saved my relationship of 2 years
