is magic johnson still hiv positive?
did he get rid of HIV? i remember a rumor a while ago that he was able to afford THe Cure.....i think that is bunk. so what is the deal?

Back in 2002, he said he would be on medication all of his life. I never heard if that situation changed. I kinda doubt it though since it would be astronomical news if there really was a cure.

Yeah, exactly Arabess, I haven't heard ANYTHING about a cure for H.I.V.

You would think that would get a small mention in the news....

But of course...he is magic.

There is currently no cure for HIV. There are medications that can help keep your level of the virus in the bloodstream low, and your risk of symptoms small, but eventually (in theory) the levels will rise, and HIV will become AIDS. Anyone who has been diagnosed with HIV will be able to transmit it to others, even if their viral load is small, as far as I know. It's not like cancer or something that can go into remission, never to return.
