I just want to start this out by saying I have tragic taste in men. I was in a relationship for eight years total. We lived together for 4.5 years, and then my boyfriend seemed to freak. He told me he wanted to break up and then the next day he came back crying saying he couldn't be without me. So I took him back but I didn't ask him to move back in.

So we continued for 3.5 more years where we would spend what I thought was every free moment together except for his "boys" night out.

Over the last 3.5 years we had gotten into a couple of fights over this girl he works with. He told me there was nothing going on between them and I was being paranoid. The fights always ended with me apologising.

All of that changed on new years eve when "she" called me to tell me she was his girlfriend of the last 3.5 years and I was just a friend.

I confronted him with this information and he didn't deny it. He couldn't even look me in the face. When I asked him why he would do this, he said "I love your company". He was at my house for only 5 minutes to pick up his stuff. Can you believe that horses**t? I went through hell thinking I was an untrusting b***h, and she tells me they have been BF and GF for the last 3.5 years. Kinda boggles the mind, doesn't it?

I have been so depressed and lonely. And I am mad at myself for being so STUPID. I have absolutely not contacted him since that night and he has not contacted me. The very last thing he said to me was a lie. He told me he was through with her, but my friends have seen them together since.

I just reaaly don't want to see him, but today he showed up at my favourite lunch spot alone and sat at the table across from me. I just got up and left without saying anything as if I had done something wrong.

Why are guys like this? How do I trust anyone?
