Can anyone tell me about curves for women?

I'm thinking about joining curves. Has anyone been or are now with curves? What's it like? Has it worked for you? Is it also a diet program as well as an excercise program?

How much weight do you want to lose?

The key about this program depends on how much you want to lose.

If you just need to lose about ten-fifteen-twenty pounds, the exercise regime they put you through is not strenous enough--you have to constantly increase your reps and weights, which this program doesn't do--the machines are such that you do not add weights like traditional machines. However, if you have a lot to lose, this exercise program may help.

There are more and more Curves popping up all over the place, but the hours at a lot of them are not designed for working women with busy schedules

I signed up for curves. I have about 20 lbs that I would like to lose or at least tone up. The one in my town is open 7:30 am to 8:00 pm which is fine for me. I guess we'll see how it goes. Have you been a memeber of curves?

I did I trial membership for a couple of days and I didn't feel like I was getting any workout. The exercises do not vary, you just keep on doing the same one over and over, wouldn't you plateau? The Curves that is closest to me is not open during the early afternoon, and since I do not have a regular 9 to 5 schedule, it is not convenient for me. I joined a World Gym.

Wow Your curves need improvement. (Not you personally) I started my 1st workout Yesterday and it was great. There are I think 10 machines and 10 workout pads. On the workout pads you can do anything from a light walk in one spot to kick boxing moves and tae ko doe. The one in my town is open from 6:30 am -8 pm.

I work at a Curves. The main bonus about workout out at Curves is that the routine is simple, short, and the same every single time. Also, there are no certain class times you need to show up to. It is not the most strenuous workout around, so if you enjoy really burning it up on the stationary bike or pumping heavy iron, Curves is not for you.

Basically the deal is that Curves is better than doing nothing or just walking on your lunch break. Additionally, most women find that they can stick to the program for the long term. How many times have you joined a gym or fitness center, gone for a few weeks, and then disappeared for months at a time? Usually at Curves, that isn't a big problem.

You still have to watch what you eat, though!

Thanks M. I've been at it for about 2 weeks now and love it. The motivation part is getting there, once your there seeing everyone else workout is motivation enough. I was at a plateau with my weight an in the first week I finally dropped 2 pounds. wow I feel great. I try to go every second day. I missed 2 days in a row and boy can you ever notice, once you go to workout again.

I joined my local Curves in January and I absolutely love it! First off, I am a sex abuse survivor (my abuser was male), and exercising with men makes me extremely panicked and edgy. At Curves, I feel like I'm in a "safe space" environment. The women are extremely nice-- the employees and members.

What I found out about Curves is that you get out what you put in it. So if you work out hard, you're going to get results quicker.

Personally, I love my Curves!
