I'm not worried about the girls anymore but what I am sort of weary about is whether the parents will accept me. In my area theres not many girls that exactly dress in the manner I do so mainly clean cut girls have been coming up to me and showing interest (Something which hasn't happenend before, new school heh.)
While I do not mind going on dates with girls if it ever gets serious and I "meet the parents" I doubt they would accept me, especially if they see me on the street.
Would you parents accept a guy who usually wears a studded leather jacket, plaid pants and has a 1/2 foot colored mohawk (and growing) for your daughter? My personality isn't a problem, I can tone that down but I can't do that for my looks.
I was nervous when I introduced my boyfriend to my mom. He's got long black hair, earrings, an eyebrow ring, a septum (nose) ring, and numerous tattoos, listens to death metal and some punk bands. She wasn't thrilled at first, but when she saw how quiet and nice of a guy he was, she fully accepted him.
I'm assuming you're in high school. To be honest, most parents want their daughters to date someone who looks "wholesome"--short hair, clean cut, wears regular clothes. There are also a lot of clean cut guys who are total a**holes. People base their first impressions on appearance, but sensible people do attempt to find out what kind of person someone is before they make a full decision. You're just going to have to go out of your way to make a good impression on them, personality wise. But I wouldn't change your appearance to make other people happy.
i'm not saying compromise yourself, but maybe tone it down a lil bit so that they get to know the real person and just what they see in front of them. first impression is the lasting impression usually.
lmao wide. thank god i got good and i love my hair. my parents would have a heart attack if i ever came home with a mohawk or if i brought someone home with one too.
I use either hair spray and a bar of soap, elmers glue and hairspray or starch my hawk and iron it on an ironing board. I don't iron it much, saving that for when I get it to 1-1 1/2 foot.
this is gonna sound really stupid, but dont you burn yourself? arent you afraid of setting your head on fire. i personally like a guy that i can run my fingers thru his hair.
Gotta use it on low heat and yes you can burn yourself but I don't think its a good idea to iron the part closest to your skin, use hairspray for that.
I used to use knox jello wide, but i dont get the best results with it since my hair snapped off once while using it, but I did cut some kids hand who thought it would be funny to slap the spikes on top of my head.
Hiddenpiglet - Sort of funny, poked a girl in the eye when I had chaos spikes on my head, hugged her and wondered why she screamed. Sorta ties into the running the fingers through the hair comment.

Come on..you're a nyc chick, you never hit the mosh pit at CBGBs back in the day?
No New York Dolls shows?
No BuzzCocks?
No Iggy Pop cutting himself up on stage as he belts it out?
The NYC hardcore scene back in 84-87 was probably one of the greatest combinations of music and political upheavel I'm aware of, and certainly that I've experienced.
