I'm in a real Fix...

This jerk at school(He used to be a friend until now) found out that I liked this girl at school who may, may not like me back and he told her I liked her. Actually this would have helped me out if he said just that but he didn't. He said," Hey so-and-so likes you. He really wants to jack you up". And her jaw just dropped. After he told me what he did, I yelled at him and told him to say he was kidding. Yet he will not do anything about this. So I have to say he was wrong. But I'm shy around her and vice-versa even before this happened. Now I can't go within 50 feet of her to talk about this. I know how she must feel and I feel like I have to do something. Plus I'm embarressed about it too.

So can anyone help me with my problem? I would appreciate it so much.

P.S. I'm sorry if this offended anyone.

Well, the ice has definitely been broken so to speak... remember if you don't let her know that you didn't say anything disrespectful about her to your friends she's going to think that you did; and hate you. So, hard as it is, try and corner her alone (not literally push her into a corner you understand, just catch her when there aren't like a hundred people around....) and apologize for your dick-head of an ex friend and say that you didn't say anything mean about her.

You might add that you did say you though she was pretty or something along those lines (unless of course you think she's ugly, if so don't say that...). She'll probably be too embarrassed to say much but see how that goes down and you might be able to tell if she likes a) believes you and; b) likes you too.

I know it's scary but give it a go, she probably thinks your friend's a bit of a dick-head but she might like you....

Good luck,

R.

I'm assuming that "jack you up" means to have sex with. First of all, the girl was likely only a little concerned or interested by your friend's crude remark. She probably hasn't even given much thought to whether or not you like her or want to jack her up. She also most likely just thinks your friend is a jerk.

This is an opportunity for you to talk to her, as Reckless has advised, on a topic you both have in common: personal experience with an idiot.

I think the mature thing to do is go up to the girl and appoligize for your friends rudeness and that you did not say the inappropriate stuff. Tell her the only truthful thing that came out of his mouth was that you like her or find her attractive.

I don't see how that can hurt you. That would be very mature of you, and you don't want the girl to think that you really did say that stuff, so just to clear the floor, let her know that you find her attractive and that your friend was acting very rude and you did not say any of that stuff about jacking her up.

Hope this helps.
