Need to loose weight...

Iam 17 years old, and well to put it bluntly I am Fat....but I never really cared. I was always popular, because I am funny, I have the gift of making people laugh.....and I found out, the hard way, that wasn't enough. There is this girl I like in school, and I know her and shes part of the people I hang out with....but for the first time....me being fat has made me....well handicapped......She said she wouldn't go out with me if I was the last man on earth......I was shocked, I never heared those words before....and now I have stopped eating.......my parents have noticed so have my friends.......I eat when my stomach hurts bad.....and I see Iam loosing some weight....but .....I saw one of those after school specials.....about people who died from eating disorders....I want to know if there are any routines for people like me who are overweight (a lot) and want to live a normal life...

Yes, there are routines and they are called diets. A simple regimen of cutting down the amount of food you consume and increasing your physical activity will do the trick. Not eating can lead to many harmful effects on the body such as lack of proper nutrition, gall stones, diabetes, low blood sugar, etc. Eat every meal but avoid in between meal snacks. Eat sensibly...vegetables, lean means, fruits, etc., in smaller quantities. Actually, it's best to eat five or six small meals a day but that may not be practical if you're in school. Be sure to drink lots of water, at least six to eight glasses a day...or more if you can. Be sure to get plenty of exercise. Fast walking to begin with, then later on a nice ten minute run each day...increased to 20 minutes over time. There are also some exercises you can do in place such as jumping jacks, sit ups, etc. The school coach may be able to suggest some for you.

Meanwhile, stop what you've been doing. Not eating is very dangerous and can lead to gorging yourself with food later on and a sudden jump in your weight, eventually to a weight greater than you started with. Don't do this. Proper diet and exercise is a lifetime thing. You can look good and get enough to eat as well. Being overweight is JUST a sign you are eating too much food for your body to use up on a daily basis...and often too much of the wrong foods. Avoid ice cream, candy, cookie, and other sweets. Eat carbs like bread, potatoes, etc. but eat them in much smaller quantities. Carbohydrates are taken into the body, converted to sugar and eventually become fat if you don't burn them up. Be sure to exercise vigorously.

I recommend that you see your doctor for a thorough examination prior to beginning you exercise program. Also, tell him about this starvation diet you're on. He'll croak when he hears about it.

I agree with Tony.

Follow his advice...and where this girl is concerned, she isn't worth it. She wouldn't go out with you if you were the last guy on Earth eh? She sounds perfectly horrible to me. Lots of girls will like you, fat or not. A sense of humour and being able to make people laugh is a rare and precious thing.

Just do it sensibly. You are only young and will probably lose weight easily but follow a proper diet.

Good Luck!

Plain and simple. That girl that you were crunching on was completely rude. I can't believe she had the nerve to say that to you. Well first off, you don;t need her. There are plently of decent women out there who like men with alittle meat on their bones. And so what that you are heavy. Do what you feel is right, but as far as the diet thing goes, don;t starve yourself because of the comment that girl gave you.

Not all women like built strong tough men, some like myself like alittle meat on the bones and enjoys the fat. Don't give up eatting because of this. Do what is right for yourself by excersizing and eatting healthy. Starving yourself is no way to go. It screws up your metabolism and it can make your metabolism slow down even more.

So, you take care of youself, and concentrate on you. Take care of your weight only if it is a huge concern to you and you want to better yourself and your overall life. And this chick in your social group is not a true friend. No friend would say that. She has alot of nerve.

You sound like a overall great guy, who wouldn;t want to go out with you who can make anyone laugh and is just an overall good person. She just lost out on a great guy.
