new dosage causing problems

I have to take 2 Neurontin a day now for my seizures cause just 1 Neurontin wasnt helping with the seizures. When I tried it,it made me so tired that I wasnt awake for work the next day.Plus it also makes me dizzy. Then if I dont take it,I will fall off the bed having a seizure.

What can i do about this?

Patty

Contact your Dr immediately! You may be able to find another alternative med to help with your seizures. But if you are having drug reactions like this, call your DR!!!!! You could be hurting your body instead of helping it.

I agree. You need to talk to your doctor. But sometimes when a medication's dosage is increased it just takes some time for your body to adjust to it and then the side effects taper off and go away.

Take care of yourself Patty.

cut it in half

patty why don't you try cutting it in half or even quarters? i've had to do that many times for medications or i would not of stuck with them to begin with due to the side effects, that is the way i would go, for a week or so then add in more each week. if it means having another seizure till you reach that therapeutic dose then that is better then noting at all, just taking alittle longer to get there that is all.

Really, people ought not mess around with their dosages without their doctor's assistance. Certain drugs need to reach a certain level in the bloodstream before they work; some don't work at both too low and too high levels and some cause side-effects at too low and too high levels but work at the correct level. Neurontin is not a drug to mess with by oneself.
