Eager to set me up with his best friend
There's a guy at work who has been so eager to set me up with one of his buddies. He's a great guy who had been standoffish the whole time I was with my boyfriend. Now that he knows that I've split up and am officially single again, he's been talking to me A LOT as if HE was very interested. He finally asked me to lunch and asked if I'd be interested in dating again...because he has a friend...
Anyway, for some reason my feelings are mixed. In a way, I'm flattered. In a another, I'm kinda skeptical. As soon as I told him I'm open to meeting his friend, he emails his friend immediately.
I guess my big question is: Why the eagerness? Is this a compliment? Should I think that he just wants his friend to find a date? My impression is that he wants me to go out with his friend a lot more than his friend wants to meet me. And...would it be awkward at work if this blind date doesn't work out? or if it does?
