It might be a pie in a jar but I think it's darn cute! My family is big on southern hospitality so any chance they get to bake or cook something they're all delighted. Mathew said as long as he can take some on the honeymoon he's in! And just in case the canadians get hungry on the drive back, they'll have handy dandy pie in a jar!!!
Honestly I'd love to do something crafty and homemade like that, but that means I'd have to bake 100 little pies in jars. If I decide to do it I'll have to enlist every family member and friend I know to help. Probably wont happen. But I can dream!
Disclaimer: I'm laughing with you
No, it was no play on words. I just meant the idea itself sounded strange.
I am picturing you saying it over and over again out loud , trying to figure it out.

Thank you for this.
OR Roller- rusiian tea... the tang mix stuff- sooo good!
Those are adorable but so much work. On the otherhand, you can make them ahead of time. You can also replace the leaf on top with a heart or something more love oriented. So cute!

They'll go from the oven straight to the freezer(you'd think it would bust, but apparently not), so making them ahead of time would be no problem.
But it is still just a pie in a jar..... sorry but I do not know what all the fuss is about
Well, for starters it's homemade, which means cheaper. We're going through immigration which costs a lot of money and planning this wedding isn't cheap. Our wedding is in an outdoorsy, country setting so the pies would go extremely well with the decorations and stuff. And lastly, who doesn't love pie? Sure I could buy them all trinkets that would end up on the floor or thrown away once they hit the first available rest stop, but pie? Nope, knowing his family and my family, they're gonna eat that.
Plus, I just think it's a thoughtful idea to give to them.
To be honest I just don't think they look particulary nice - just my personal opinion but each to their own
Just a thought though - when you say going through immigration, will that include the pies? I know that sounds daft but if that is the case, there are often restrictions taking food to different countries. You could end up with them all being confiscated and have a hefty fine
it is cute.... how about little jars of dry cookie mix, or hot chcolate mix.....
with customs and all i would think baked stuff might be an issue... i guess it depends on where you are coming from and going to though (canada- right?)
