I was just wondering what would be the best way to ask a friend out and for them not to think its just us hanging out again?

Can you describe your relationship with this friend? Where have you met, how long you've been friends for, how often you hang out, the kind of activity you do together? Does she ever talk about other guys?

Well I first met her through some friends about 3 months ago. Then maybe about a month ago we started talking and hanging out more, after I met her at a mutual friends concert. Also she has never mentioned anything about any other guys. Although I heard her talking to her friend about how her relationships have been and shes been cheated on.

Am I right in assuming that you two were never alone together?

Or perhaps you've never gone out for dinner just the two of you?

In any case, asking her out for dinner usually sends a pretty clear signal.

We had coffee together once and to find out she doesn't like coffee. Other than that we have just been around with friends.
