Has anyone watched the video or read the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne? It basically says it you want something enough and keep putting out positive energy you'll attract what you want and attract more positive things in your life. The video does say you can not control other people thoughts, only your own world.

Even though it sounds hokey, I guess it's a good way to try remaining positive. Does anyone follow it and find it works?

The danger here is obviously confusing "being positive" with holding onto wishful thinking. I have read the book, and I think its excellent. It is true that being upbeat and positive will help you attract love, just not from any one person in particular - which is where some people struggle.

I agree. It's one thing being positive to attract other positive things, but another thing entirely if you try to think positive things to make your ex come back to you.

That's why I pointed out it does say you can't change other people's thoughts, only your own in your own world. But alot of us here are feeling sorry for ourselves, which isn't good and isn't going to attract anyone.

In a way, it goes along the same lines as what the "Get your ex back" guides say..keep positive with yourself. If you talk to your ex, stay happy and not go into the past relationship problems since that will just be negative energy.

this sounds like a good book. since my breakup 3+ months ago, i've rediscovered my desire to read. i am going to watch to movie, but after i read the book 1st. i actually just set my alarm clock early to check the local book stores tomorrow.

Yeah, I had a friend/ coworker let me hear some of the cds of The Secret, while I was on an ambulance and had plenty of time to hear them when we were waiting for a call.

The Secret for the most part will make you feel decent and it has some uplifting material therein, however, with that said it has a lot of of crap in it too. If it helps you keep a positive attitude then it would work, but the material is soon forgettable. Just another new age Over hyped book/ cd. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars, like I said it does have some good stuff in it.
