Alright so I met my future mother in law a few months ago. It was nerve wrecking since they are Indian and Im not.
In any case, that first meeting went ok. I talked with her, spend a few hours there, it seemed ok.

My bf says that she sometimes cautions him because of our differences and because I still have two (or more) years of school to go (graduate school...still deciding on PhD). Bf is very supportive of my schooling so he doesnt see a problem with it.

In any case, he has asked me to come visit his mom once again. He mentioned that maybe I should bring her something....and I have absolutely no idea as to what!!

I thought about maybe making a desert and bringing it, but im afraid she wont like it. I also thought about flowers....but i dont know...

Any ideas?

Really, I couldn't tell you....maybe do some research on their tribe and find a book or something that she can use to document her heritage?

Actually, they are from India, not Native American.
But you bring up a point....i thought about making something to eat, like dessert...but im wondering if I should bring something from my culture...or try out something from theirs....
