depression

Im depressed 95% of my day and the other 5% I am just okay. I don't know what to do.. I just cry and cry and cry. No one knows how serious this is because I'm known as the one who can never stop smiling, even in the worst situation. But that is not true at all.
My mum is getting really mad and she is saying she really can't put up with my bad moods anymore. This makes me feel worse, that I am upsetting her, but I truely can't help it.
I used to be out and about all the time, now all I want to do is stay home all day, which makes me feel even more alone. I just feel like I can't connect to anyone anymore.

What happend to make that change so drastically?

I suggest you get busy; find a job, meet new people, go out on dates!

If that doesn't work and your still unhappy then go see a doctor.

Ask yourself if it's because your bored and you hate your life because you feel that you have no purpose OR if it's a mental thing.

Hi Lou

You've just made a very brave step in opening up and saying that your suffering from depression and looking for advice and on how to get help with it. Even though you dont believe it at the moment you have turned the corner and things will start improving.

Believe me ive been through it to a very simular point and possibly worse. (Went to out patients off a mental ward for a year.)

Bad mood swings, hitting my father nearly losing all my family and friends ive been there. Bad side affects from medication. Lost all confidence. Went down to 5 stone. (wont go into the whole story) but it was a uncomfortable trip for myself and my family. I was told i would never work again etc.

But with the help of my family friends and doctors and specialists im back in full time employment. Had my own flat before ex partner moved in (had to move out cause i couldnt afford the rent) and getting on with life.

So things may seem very dark for you at the moment with depression and mood swings are bad but in time it will lift hun. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow but in time little by little the depression will lift.

If your feeling scared about going out ask your mum if she fancies a bit of walk to the paper shop. Buy a A4 piece of paper and write in it every day telling it what kind of mood your in how you felt when you got up, what made you upset, what made you feel down etc. What your eating etc(This is called a mood diary) make an appointment to go see the doctor ask if you feel scared to see the doctor ask your mum if she will go with you.

Dont worry the doctors are there to help you feel better.

If you need to chat then everyone is here for you hun xx
