Society of Friends

I was beginning to become involved in a Quaker congregration when I lived in Texas three years ago. I enjoyed the congregation, which had a very individualized, meditative type of service.

Since relocating to my current home, I have attended services at two separate congregations in two separate towns. The worship style was much different than my previous congregation. It was much more directed, involved less sharing, and included hymns.

Is anyone aware of a good resource for information on Society congregations and their individual worship styles. I really miss the services that I attended in the past.

is there a similar structure to what other Christian groups have, a hierarchy of sorts? If so, then there ought to be a regional information office that'd have a list of all the churches that are part of said group. Like the Baptist church has the Southern Baptist Convention, the Lutherans can be part of the Missouri Synod, Catholic and Episcopalian churches are divided into dioceses, etc.

or, if you're able, contact the church here in Texas that you were attending and see if they know of any similar worship groups to theirs in your new neck of the woods.
